Got the two Teutonic knights last week. They are really well done in dramatic poses. Sorry for the poor photo as they were so eye catching I put them on a shelf in the study.

TM's output has stalled over the last year or so, when previously releases seemed to be almost monthly. I hope to see some more new products soon but I fear the stalled output will continue.

We anticipate releasing two new Crusaders by the end of this month, after which this series will come to an end. At this stage, we are preparing carving work for a new theme—German cavalry from World War II.

Je me permets de suggérer la cavalerie de Handshar de la 13e SS… Ils portaient des uniformes et étaient équipés de matériel allemands et faisaient souvent partie de la Feldgendarmerie. On les reconnaissait à leurs fez rouges et à leurs insignes croates. Jamais représentée auparavant par des figurines de qualité, cette représentation serait à la fois originale et historiquement fidèle.

German cavalry from World War II!!!

I'm already pre-ordering!

I'd like to suggest the Handshar cavalry of the 13th SS… this division wore field gray and camouflage uniforms and carried equipment identical to the German soldiers, and had numerous cavalry units within the Feldgendarmerie. They were recognizable by their red or Feldgrau fezzes and Croatian insignia. Never before represented by quality miniatures, this would be both original and historically accurate.

Wearing their Feldgendarmerie collars!

The Feldendarmerie Field Police were the German military police units during World War 2. They wore standard Army and SS field uniforms with distinctive insignia and some special clothing and equipment.
These policemen were then employed into army divisions and other units in which they would be under the command of an army corps. Their main roles were policing the areas which were behind the front lines.

and what is Chabeso???

Chabeso is a German lemonade brand created in 1911 and very popular during World War II... As an for side note, in 1931, Chabeso successfully sued the Augsburg lemonade manufacturer, Andreas Brenner, who had spread rumors that the company was Jewish-owned and produced "Jewish water." Even a lemonade can have a story to tell...

What a surprise, it's the German army again and again !!!.
I know that German is very "bankable", but what about some British, American or Russian soldiers and tanks to change the subject a little ?.

Its pretty clear reading post #5 that TM like every-other manufacturer, is chasing an ever decreasing collector base.

While I agree that WW2 Germans get flogged to death in this wonderful hobby of ours, its all about supply and demand.

Given TM's excellent horse figures, I'm assuming they are simply taking advantage of that and combining it with bankable Germans? That said, I don't recall seeing too many Germans on horse-back in 'action' poses opposed to the usual sedate 'patrolling' type figure. Time will tell I guess.......

From the moment an army demonstrates diversity in units of all types with a vast array of themes within it, one shouldn't be surprised that its development continues indefinitely over time...
TM is absolutely right to include its brand in this market because there is real potential...
If one also wants more specific or even elite themes, a certain level of profitability is necessary, which can only be achieved with the support of highly attractive themes.
TM is also right when it targets German cavalry, and it will be a pinnacle of creativity if they make a Handschar Feldgendarmerie cavalry!

Until now, and since 2002, the rise of K&C, who has produced this theme???
No one... Neither K&C (except for infantry figures), nor JJD, nor Britain, no one....
Furthermore, it would be rather specific, even elitist... The Handschar is little known...

Thomas Gunn have done quite a few German cavalry figures in winter and summer attire. I will see what the previews look like before committing.
