Review - the most recent Barbarians/Vikings set: As per my usual practice I got this in all three colours and will make them up in as many variations as the pieces permit. There are two kneeling shield wall figures that come 2 each, so four altogether. Two others come as already done, including...
This question is pretty much for Australians - is Aust & NZ Defender magazine still an ongoing concern? I'd been subscribed to the online version but I can't seem to open any links to renew it? There appear to be almost daily updates on Facebook but again, no joy when I try to click through?
Thanks for those photos. I've got a few Jenkins Vikings (the leadership group) and six or so Saxon spearman mixed amongst them already. They're a bit bigger themselves but look fairly good. The star is Conte's Ragnar charging out the front, who works great with both. These bigger Britains are...
I have just received 15 or so of the newer figures in this range. I'm quite surprised to see that they are much bigger than the initial sets - which were 54mm. The new figures are noted as 1/30 scale and are notably bigger! Has anyone else had an issue with this?
I see Conte's Vikings/Barbarians have arrived in the US. Does anyone know if Hobby Bunker will have these as well? I wrote to them but haven't heard back.
You guys are out of date. There's been two issues of plastic Romans and one of Barbarians in the last couple of years. They're GREAT! You can make 2 or more poses out of pretty much each figure. He has several new sets of figures sculpted.
I went to use Airplane just this last week when I was teaching parodies to a Year 9 class. I couldn't find it in the system, so I used The Naked Gun instead. So much fun! I fondly remember all the ZAZ movies.

I think it's been about 30 years for me - from back when he had two shops? I used to buy books from him too, when he used to stock those. Yes, he was always keen to chat about events in the news. He had some strong opinions and this ruffled other's feathers at times but I always found him...
They are awesome! I finally received mine from Hobby Bunker today (it was a slow trip for some reason). Most of the figures come with two options for display, though some up to four if you use the two shield and weapon options that some have. They're really earthy and the three colours give the...
While I believe that Dike was misrepresented in the show, my memory of Ambrose's book and from some of the later auto-biographies, is that he was loathed by a number of key Easy Co veterans.
It's not the ideal word for a blokey forum like this but BoB was more romantic. It reflected the almost crusade like nature of the ETO. The action was more condensed and key characters were in most episodes. The theme music was uplifting. The German armour helped too. The Pacific, loosely...
