Things that I really like (2 Viewers)

The odd thing about "All in the Family" is that the liberals could laugh at Archie and the conservatives could laugh with him. I'm sure the liberal types who made the show intended Archie to be a buffoon not realizing that half or more of Americans shared many of his opinions. Certainly relevant in these times. It was never my favorite show, though, because I realized the writers and even Carroll O'Conner was at some level mocking the blue-collar type mentality.

This is bittersweet, but seeing and hearing Blackhawk helicopters fly over our neighborhood in Texas.

We rarely see them Northwest of San Antonio but since Friday a group of them has flown over at the same time each night.

The first few nights I felt a sense of hope since they likely rescued survivors of the floods.

The last couple of nights I have hung my head knowing that they are now looking for the dead.

Hearing of the huge military exercise kicking off in Australia, involving 19x countries and doesn’t conclude until early August.

The original "The Blob" with a young Steve McQueen. All the classic 50s sci fi elements. Teenagers, doubting adults, a literal blob from outer space. It is "The Thing" meets "Rebel without a Cause."

Aneta Corasut played Andy Griffith's girlfriend Helen and was the girlfriend of S McQueen in The Blob.

The remake was very good IMO, awesome special effects.

The Late Show w Stephen Colbert cancelled after he ruined it with his political antics. First aired in 1982 with David Letterman. He's not being replaced, the show will be off the air next May.

I like it when a network rightfully cancels a show that doesn’t make money. Justice is served albeit due to good business.

I remember when Conan O’Brien was asked about Colbert.

He said that basing a show on political jokes was the epitome of laziness.

Just another reason that proves Conan is an all-time great and the most honest late night show host of the modern era.

Can you imagine Carson is rolling literally in his grave and Letterman just has to be shaking his head. Colbert is not a nice human. If you read up on him and other stuff he has done Pre Trump, just bad. Sometimes folks get their just desserts. Also, IF he was good and the show was good, I would be the first one lamenting it regardless of his politics. I just don't care about that. The sad thing with his show, his own vitriol ruined it regardless of who the guests were and those interviews. I cannot remember what musical guest it was (may have been Hetfield from Metallica), he indicated that the overall political nature of the show turned him off from appearances. He is not a fan of Trump, I can tell ya, but even he was basically saying Colbert ruined the show. Honestly, there are so many other subjects in the world beyond Trump, you wish actual written comedy would return. If all you want to watch is politics, then stick to Fox and CNN, they cover it quite well. I find to be ad nauseum and wish network tv would get back to actual creativity.

Colbert turned a comedy show into a political propaganda program. He is either completely unhinged on the topic of Trump or exploiting those that are. Just the sight of him makes me cringe. To now complain that he was fired due to politics after choosing to become a political commentator in the guise of a comedian is the height of hypocrisy. I just hope CBS does not cave to the inevitable woke pressure and keep him on the air. He can cry a river so long as he is shown the exit. Good riddance. That's one down and one to go with Jimmy Kimmel.

Jimmy Kimmel is just another political hack, attention grabbing hypocrite.

He became famous via ”The Man Show”.
