    Re: AZTEC Temple complex

My calculation on a minimum display based on the temple having a flat back would be 35 1/2 in wide by 30 in deep. That would allow 11 1/2 in area around the inner walls for figures.

    A custom made...
  2. Re: Where can I buy model ship rigging/rope in the US?

I go to Michael’s and in the jewelry section you can get thread that works well as rope. And cheap.

It can be waxed or hardened with glue.

At present, the production version has not been released. The OMSS has the rights, and can be purchased from several vendors when they get them. Check with Scott Dummit, he is the liaison with...

Just received my Moccasin Maintenance group, and it makes a great group for the Indian Mountain Man.

  5. Re: John "Liver-Eating" Johnson, born John Jeremiah Garrison Johnston

That figure is extreamly well sculpted and animated. John has done a super figure for the start of an series. The options are open for both the American and Canadian old west. Not battle scenes but...

    Re: Whiskey,Scalps,And Beaver Pelts

I am glad John is interested in this period. While not a very battle conflict era, the diorama prospects are emence. The whiskey trade, prospectors, NWMP in their uniform.

  7. Re: New Releases for December 2018 - Conquest of America

There are two things I would comment on.

The figure looks more European that Mexican. I learned from a great sculpter (Ron Highnotte) that many individuals create what they look like. A perfect...

    Re: George H. W. Bush's Avenger "Barbara"

Very interesting, there are very many issues to this conversation.

The first is cost recovery and profit margin. Cost recovery includes everything from master to packaging and distribution. Many...

My comment on lead did not have anything to do with Barzo playsets. We talked in Chicago about the issues around safety and how government requires oversite.

    Yes, Ron deserved a...

    Re: Barzso Fort Ticonderoga

The fort requires a four foot square display space, identical to the others.

It is a pity that Ron retired, but the problems of meeting health and safety criteria with the foam was not worth the...

Re: Buying Hudson & Allen items in the UK ?

The Hudson & Allen pieces Are very nice. I have all the buildings that are not damaged. Nice pieces to display with bands and civilians.

As with the current production of BritainÂ’s I do not...
  16. Re: Removing paint from frontline/altaya figures

    Your welcome.

I have used it on historex figures, plastic figures and metal. Only difficulty is if the are metal plated. Then you are in trouble. Brake fluid is cheap and recicleable.

    Re: Whiskey,Scalps,And Beaver Pelts

I look forward to this theme that can encompass the American and Canadian west. John’s sculpting of Indians in a scene of life as the west grew, depicting 1850’s thru early 1900. Could include the...
  20. Re: Removing paint from frontline/altaya figures

I use brake fluid, it works with plastic figures as well. Just fill a jar, drop the figure in and leave for some time, use a soft tooth brush to remove. You can put the figure in several times...
  21. Re: John Jenkins Treasure Hunt 2018 at the Chicago Toy Soldier Show!

I agree that the mountain man and two Indian girls make an excellent start to the “whiskey, scalps and beaver pelts”. This allows a great north west display to be started. How the Canadian west was...
