  1. Re: JJDesigns Items Previewed at the London Toy Soldier Show Saturday June 29th

Excellent figure sculpts. The poses are very dynamic. The arms and armor are accurate for the period and can serve as Vikings as well as Saxons IMO. Archers need to be added, as these were key to...

Re: Congratulations on TGM 10th Anniversary !!

Nice Diorama; the variety of poses from TG Romans is the best since Conte. The TG Onagers and Skorpion are the most accurate made to date IMO. TG should make a Roman Galley on which the artillery...
  3. Re: The Punic Wars Roman Warship July 2019 Special Pre-Order Announcement

I use Exin blocks in my Roman fortifications and they look quite realistic. The Roman watchtower on the Danube river frontier, being resupplied by the Playmobile Roman galley is an example. I even...

Wonderful examples; it brings back the meaning of Toy to Toy Soldiers!

  6. Re: The Punic Wars Roman Warship July 2019 Special Pre-Order Announcement

I think if you look at my diorama you will see that the Playmobile Roman Galley was modified and repainted to resemble a Roman River Patrol boat. The emblem on the sail was replaced and the shields...

    Re: JJD Roman fort scene

Great diorama and excellent photos. The dynamic poses of the figures make the scene very realistic IMO.
  8. Re: The Punic Wars Roman Warship July 2019 Special Pre-Order Announcement

How do you engage a Carthaginian galley under sail when you have none? The Roman galley was a direct copy of the Carthaginian galley; which had sails. Granted unique circumstances could require that...

    Re: Real or fake?

I purchased a TCS Kingtiger in TCS packaging dated 2015. The story I pieced together from both the seller in China and Brian at TCS comments when I inquired; that these were a small preproduction run...
  10. Re: The Punic Wars Roman Warship July 2019 Special Pre-Order Announcement

Nice historical perspective of the period of the wars with Carthage. The Roman warship of this era was a direct copy of a captured ship from Carthage. The ships of both Carthage and Rome had at least...

    Re: Crew for egale design

ED has produced a crew for their 88MM Flak Gun. I imagine they will be producing a crew for their Werblewind soon. Watch Y-weido's Ebay site; they come up on there as soon as they are available.

Re: KING & COUNTRY Dispatches -- June 2019

The best Panther G produced to date in 1/30-1/28 scale IMO. Superb camouflage pattern and excellent colors. Exceeds Figarti and FL examples of the Panther G. A new standard to be met or excelled. K&C...

    Re: Eagle Design Flakpanzer Wirbelwind

I have received several ED models without problems. I find in the US customs inspections can be more of a problem than shippers or packaging. The packaging of the ED Kingtiger was excellent.

Re: Size Comparison Photos - Various Manufacturers

TG Romans are compatible with JJD and Conte; typically 60-62mm tall. The TG WWI line is compatible with TCS and K&C i.e. 64-66mm typically.

I recall Julie did some excellent comparison photos of...

Re: New release: German Tiger Ausf E

Figarti was a good example of Chinese QC. Flaking paint, missing parts, shifts in scale etc. The problems occurred in small production run products of typically 100 pieces. The companies I have...

Re: New release: German Tiger Ausf E

I stand by my comment that TCS got the wheels on right with this version. I also stand by the comment that US QA is superior to Chinese IMO. Disagree if you will but do not distort what i said!

Re: New release: German Tiger Ausf E

I stated the TSC got the wheels on right. I made no mention of a Chinese manufacturer as the source of the problem. I suggest you reread my post.

    Re: Gauls as Archers

Conte made several Barbarian archer figures. I have posted photos of them in my Roman dioramas.
The figures are a true 60mm and will work with TG, JJD, TCS and FL Romans and Barbarians.

TCS got the wheels on right with this release. I wonder if US manufacture may have something to do with that! Better QA is good.

    Re: New Tiger

Much more accurate than the last early production Tiger I from TCS. Made in the US should give TCS an advantage in shipping cost and better QC. I think it would look great in Panzergrau Wayne!
  22. Re: BB033 German Flakpanzer IV "Wirbelwind" Pre-Order!

First Legion really nailed the colors with this vehicle. I hope they stick with this mix in future Panzers.

Re: Eagle Design King Tiger: Initial Review

Thanks for the excellent photos Tom. The metal wheels do not look broken; it looks like the glue join of metal wheel to the resin hull failed. A better glue would solve this problem. I find Slicon...

  25. Re: Fixing the Eagle Design King Tiger (Replacing Cannon and Modifying Mudguards)

Hunter I think using 1/2 inch Aluminum Angle for the mud guards would be better; as the material is quite thin and its available at any hardware store.

Are you going to paint the new barrel?
