  1. Re: 37th Annual East Coast Toy Soldier Show, November 3rd, 2019

Roger that. Apparently FDU was slow to reply about the contract.

    Re: Things that annoy me

The jewel cases are a good source of clear plastick stock for scratchbuilding, though. That's my go-to for armored windscreens on 1/48 fighter planes.

    Re: Movie: BATTLE OF MIDWAY

That might be so, but it's still inexcusable. It's a mistake on the part of the artist. And it reinforces the idea that the film is going to be more like "Pearl Harbor", than like "Tora! Tora!...

Outstanding conversion work, on your entire set, Pat!

  6. Re: What is the name of the best sniper of the Second Front and what was his kills sc

Serge, old boy, a man whose arguments are so lacking that he has to resort to calling his opponents names has no dignity.

Keep it up. You might goad yourself into getting banned from the forum.

So now you call me names because I chose to block your inane posts? If that's the best a Russian can do, the Russians are a very sorry people indeed.

    Re: Movie: BATTLE OF MIDWAY

If they make the Japanese carriers look like that, it proves the point of all of us skeptics. The enclosed hurricane bow, and the shape of the island, make it look like a post-modernization...

Wow, an ad hominem attack, and delivered in an almost indecipherable fashion, too! You're really enhancing your credibility.

    Re: The terror: Infamy

I think it's a common plot in some anime and manga, too.

May be influenced by the concept in Shinto that besides people, animals, and places, and even objects, have spirits. They're all around. ...
  13. Re: Ebay Warning St. Petersburg Figures Seller in California

Yeah, I didn't expect necessarily that you might get a report of some kind, but I thought you might have a look at his account, see if he gets banned, etc.

I'm curious to have a look now myself,...
  14. Re: Ebay Warning St. Petersburg Figures Seller in California

I get your point, George, but I get Brad's, too. How is that seller going to get more feedback? From other buyers, not from me. Let them be the guinea pigs.

It's the same as the policy some...

Is that outfit still around? I belonged to a Military Book Club, back when I was in high school. I think it was a subsidiary of Time-Life, or one of the other major news publishers. And it was set...
  17. Re: Ebay Warning St. Petersburg Figures Seller in California

Yeah, reading this, my thought was that it's a foreigner using a US address/registration. Russian and Red Chinese are the first two nationalities that come to mind.

I'd be curious to hear what...

    Re: 2019 Baseball season

You people don't know what heartbreak really is. You're not Phillies fans.

There's even a play about it, a one-man show called, "The Philly Fan". Worth seeing, if you have the opportunity.

    Re: Major Matt Mason movie

I just had a couple of the figures, but my neighbor had some of the vehicles, too. They were a lot of fun, when I was a kid. But after a few sessions, the wire armature inside always snapped...

  23. Re: How can you tell if a W Britain figure has been repainted?

I don't agree with that statement. I think it's more likely that most of the Britains we see on eBay are sold by people who are simply dealers in antiques and collectibles, not specialty toy soldier...

Verlinden and Peddinghaus both made decal sets of uniform insignia of most of the major armies in WW II, in various scales. There are other makers, too. I see sets of them all the time on eBay.
