    Austin Minitures Marines

    I'm pretty impressed with the pics of the new marines from Austin. I wonder if the same sculptor (Mr. Ortiz) that did many of the Conte figs did these? I don't think Ken Osen did them. Both are certainly talented sculptors. The sense of motion and non-static poses are great. Lots of...

    Small Sampling of French Army

    Wow, very nice looking bunch of Frenchies...the brush-work is impressive. Those Victrix blokes really look detailed.

    New Terrain Company, "All Must March" seeking feedback and terrain requests

    Re: New Terrain Company, "All Must March" seeking feedback and terrain requests A Civil War trench piece such as the Muleshoe sounds like a great piece and could probably be used in other settings such as Petersburg, etc. I wonder how practical it would be to do a piece that appears like an...

    AIP new releases FIW and Zule

    That is great news. More French and Indian War figures are always welcome, and another set of Zulus to add to the fray is also most welcome. Excellent!{sm4}

    Hat Bavarians

    Splendid brush work as usual. This is a fantastic looking unit of Germans in action. The flag turned out great and the artillery boys did, too. Nice work-thanks for sharing it.

    Planet of the Apes

    Awesome sculpts. I was a big Planet of the Apes fan as a kid in the 70s. Always thought a plastic figure playset like Marx for the movies would have been fantastic. I like what you're working on here. Keep us posted. Cheers, Mike :)

    Time For Some New World War Two

    Gun-Ho was an Australian company, therefore it was their interest to put out Aussies first. They followed them up by sculpting NVA figures. They had both in metal and put out the Aussies in plastic as well, before the company essentially went under. The only other plastic set they did was US...

    M26 Pershing arrived

    The casting marks in the "steel" and the welding lines look nice; pretty realistic. I'll agree with the reddish being a little "off", but overall a cool tank model.

    World War 1 Turks?

    Who or what is Larsen Toys? I found a maker of wooden blocks online, but nothing about toy soldiers. Is this the same Larsen you speak of?

    spanish house

    Jorge, This is a great looking piece. It has a lot of character. Reminds me of the images of Spanish houses in the old children's book, Ferdinand the Bull. Thanks for sharing. Mike

    Pesasus 1/32 German Fallschirmjagers

    I'm just thrilled that someone is bringing out a new set of Green Devils. I like the old Airfix set, but those lads truly need some reinforcements. If this set is up to the standard of the Soviet Naval infantry, they will be fantastic. Can't wait to put a brush to them...{sm4}

    Test shots?

    Excellent figures there. The Boxers resemble AIP in style more than the Japanese, which do look more like Conte figures. I went to their site and found these two sets. After using the Bing translator and a currency convertor, each set of six figures (test shots as you mention) came out around...

    Cork brick and foam board buildings

    Very cool technique. From the looks of it, the cork bricks could be painted and "fiddled with" to use as rubble for large scale war games, or just 54mm toy soldier set ups. The buildings you've included here are fantastic. Thanks for sharing!

    Prussian Landwehr officer.

    Great idea, there appears to be a lot of potential with this officer figure with just head swaps. Add some paint to him and you've certainly got a winner in the long run. I think you could probably also rework this fellow for the Mexican War also. Will be interested to see what you come up...

    Italieri Released 2-NEW Italian "FOLGORE" Paras Sets!

    I'm not sure if this topic actually works under this thread, but I did do some searching. I found an in-the-box review at the following link for the Folgore paratroopers: http://armorama.kitmaker.net/modules.php?op=modload&name=Reviews&file=index&req=showcontent&id=7337

    First People at Bison Hunt

    Very nice work on the bison (I wouldn't have guessed the platform was a camel). The horses are dynamic poses and the Indians I recognize, but they fit in very nicely with the theme. Accolades to your Mrs. on the painting work, too!

    Custom shapes. 1/30. Plastic.

    Lalo, These are awesome conversions for this period. You do some great work in terms of the changes to the figures, as well as your painting. Thanks for sharing! Mike:D
