Thanks everyone! I was never quite happy with the “French Bocage” style foliage I had in my original version of this display. The Birch trees look a lot better and more like what one might see in northwestern Ukraine or southeast Poland where this Elefant was operating during the summer of 1944.
A German Stug IV from 17. SS-Panzergrenadier-Division "Götz von Berlichingen" accompanied by some panzer grenadiers make contact with the enemy somewhere in France during the Battle of Normandy… First Legion’s Normandy Stug IV (NOR089) has long been one of my favorite 1/30 scale AFVs and I’ve...
I recently updated my vignette diorama with the FL Elefant to include some birch trees from Sheffield Miniatures. These trees seem a little more appropriate for the Eastern Front… Otherwise, the scene remains mostly the same. Just wanted to share.
****, just when I think I’m done, K&C goes and releases a bunch of must-haves with those USAAF ground crews! I’ve got most of the older versions, but the new poses look fantastic and I’ve got some aircraft they can display with 😎
I think it was fortuitous… The ruin in the background is an old Forces of Valor 1/32 scale diorama in a case that I display 1/30 scale products in (it appears in the background of many of my photos). In that particular picture, it just happened to align with the right lighting to make a...
I really enjoy both the Heer and SS “marching” figures that TGM has made. As you noted, Woodyskysolo, the TGM marching Heer figures are particularly well done. They are very useful for 1941-1943 (Barbarossa through Kursk) period scenes given the uniform style.
Here’s a couple pics of a display...
Fantastic work on your display, agmtanks! It looks perfect and the Figarti Pershing scales well and looks the part in your setup!
I made a very similar vignette display last year, only I used a modified Collector’s Showcase Pershing.
Thank you, Panzer Ace! K&C has done a fantastic job with their RAF series of figures with healthy complements of both pilots, ground crews, and others available… And for some reason, they always pair very nicely with the Thomas Gunn wooden warbirds!
I just received War Park’s new Sturm-Infanteriegeschütz 33B (SIG 33B) Assault Gun model yesterday and it’s pretty nice! I’ve got it set up in a Stalingrad type scene with some First Legion Stalingrad Germans and JG Miniatures/Sheffield Miniatures building ruin and rubble for the terrain. The SIG...
Fantastic setup, Mike! I knew you’d be showing your factory off in style soon enough 😎
I like that dead German figure too and recently ordered it via FL’s sale.
