    Polish Lancer

Regarding removable riders: I have an older King and Country ACW piece, General Burnside. He is removable from his horse. So, there is relatively recent precedent, in another line at least. Chris

    Be Leary!

I guess I have seen too many bad operators in my life, and probably shouldn't be so suspicious. My wife tends to get a bit annoyed when I get so cautious. I certainly hadn't thought of substitution of broken pieces, either. After reading additional details from the guy who started the...

    Be Leary!

I don't know anyone personally on this board, so I have no idea if they are honest or not. Besides, as a lawyer, I have seen a lot of people burned by folks that they thought were honest. PAYPAL provides a means to resolve disputes. Paying by check requires you to trust the person on the...

Concur. I would not buy from a seller who refused to let me use PAYPAL.

    Accuracy, It's a Puzzlement

Having served in the military for 20 years, I would assume that any minor variations from perfection are the result of ad hoc modifications by field personnel necessary because of their particular tactical situation...

What is the maximum amount of money you would spend on a retired King and Country set

I am new to this forum and don't know if I can mention specific websites where K & C figures are sold, but I've seen one website out there (actually my favorite place to buy) where the highest asking price for a retired K & C figure is $2,495. Rare figure, and rarified price. I'd have to sell...

Size problems with Sons of the South

Very helpful post. I wish that I had read it before I bought a set of SOS figures. The set I bought doesn't fit in with anything I own , even though I like the figures. Now I want to sell them but I never seem to find the time.

    New ACW Zouaves

Love the picture. My wife wants to know if you had a bunch of guys blowing cigarette smoke onto the scene while you took the picture...

    New ACW Zouaves

CS has focused on making ACW infantry figures with colorful uniforms. While I admire them, I don't buy them because they don't fit in with the ACW figures I have from other companies with traditionally colored uniforms. I like the design of CS figures, but I would like to see ACW figures with...

New to Collectors Showcase - what's retired?

I hope that I didn't sound too critical in my post; I am a big fan of Colloctor's Showcase and try to find reasons to buy your figures. However, I believe some of the early cavalry pieces can be found readily in the secondary market and just wanted to give a heads-up to potential buyers.

New to Collectors Showcase - what's retired?

I don't know if anyone is still reading this thread, but I have a few comments on the first few CS cavalry pieces. First, there were some quality issues with at least one of these figures. The scabbard of the Union Cavalry officer is made of a very delicate metal and can easily be broken. The...
