    House of the DRAGON.

I've just finished the season and I guess I'll watch the next season when it comes next year. They've been some good elements but it has no where near the interest of the original's first series. The characters are mostly meh. The Mat Smith one is pretty good but he seems to have his hands tied...

    New Conte Plastic Information

Conte posted on Facebook a couple of days ago that the 2nd set of Romans has arrived in the US. He anticipates their shipment to be a bit slow but I expect they will be available in a few weeks. I imagine Hobby Bunker is going to be a retailer again?

The Orville - Epsode 5 - and the wormhole

Just watched an episode of the current season and there were NO jokes?? I'm pretty sure I've seen this advertised as a comedy (I checked - it is??). It's my first look at the series and 90 minutes I think I could have used better. I usually like Seth McFarlane's stuff but it was Star Trek lite...

    Nick Versteeg

I loved what Nick did for plastic figures. He produced some of the best plastic sets ever made. He made a real mark on our hobby. Just a couple of days ago I was wondering how he was going.

    Out of Business

I just thought I'd conclude my entry to this thread with some praise of CS. I collected almost all the Roman/Britain series, including the second chariot. The later Romans had outsized shields compared to the earlier ones and I didn't like that, but this aside, the figures were very action...

    Out of Business

Conte has just posted pictures of Romans Set 2 on his Facebook page. They each have a number of alternate parts so that quite a number of unique soldiers can be assembled. It was the same with Set 1, that came out last year and they are excellent! There are also Barbarians in the works and also...

    New Conte Plastic Information

These are great! To be at this point with Set 2, the first set must have sold quite well. It bodes well for the additional sets planned.

Honest, not sarcastic question? Are Britians still releasing stuff.

I mix my Britains Vikings/Saxons in with the JJ figures. JJ is more detailed but the two work pretty well in my opinion, certainly to make a bigger battle scene. I was hoping for more Britains in this range but it trailed off a couple of years ago.

Did anyone get the Plastics that were highlighted to be released in 2022?

I see you wrote 2022? The Romans came out last year. There hasn't been time for the 2022 sets to be made yet.

Did anyone get the Plastics that were highlighted to be released in 2022?

I take it you mean Conte's? Yes, they're excellent! There's pictures in a thread in Plastics. There's some great photos on his Facebook site for more Romans, Barbarians (Goths) and even another set of Vikings. Whether these all get done is open to question but the new Romans are great!

    The Shannara Chronicles

Just watched the first series. Yep, no GOT and didn't do enough for me to go to season 2. Yes, clearly aimed at young-adults, with attractive leads and lots of dramatic developments. I found it funny at the number of times someone was captured and had a lucky escape. Or fell from a height and...

    Recommendations For WW2 Movies Please

Some of the good ones recently have been Dunkirk, Greyhound (with Tom Hanks leading the fight against U-boats)and Hacksaw Ridge. Just check the rating for that last one but we use it at school. Slightly older - Memphis Bell. I wouldn't show Fury to kids, it's pretty rough in places and loses its...

    Ashes

An old thread, that's time has come again. Today was a nice even contest despite the rain messing things up. Good to see after the disappointing first three tests. I struggle to understand how English cricket can't produce better players. Each of the counties must have a spinner - how can Leach...

    Wheel of Time TV series

Maybe it was a budget thing, or Covid impacting the number of extras but the trollocs were too CGI, especially in big battles. Those were epic in the books but they were not at all compelling in the show.

    Wheel of Time TV series

The Wheel of Time was a fourteen book fantasy series, mostly written by Robert Jordan but finished by Brandon Sanderson. It is an epic adventure featuring a HOST of characters engaging in a good vs evil story. It is primarily set in a medieval world, with elements of other cultures like the...

No Time To Die - James Bond

Saw Bond last night. I liked it overall but the ending was a surprise. As usual, I thought the film was an action sequence too long. The car chases were very exciting. When Bond was shooting down all the henchmen, I had the thought he was fighting Stormtroopers, so bad was their shooting! There...

    Tiger 1 - Australia

I will be visiting that museum in the next year or two. I'm prepared to pay a pretty penny to have 5 minutes in that tank!

The Last Duel Directed by Ridley Scott trailer

Saw it and really liked it! Interesting change showing the events from three perspectives but not repetitive to my eye. Intriguing slants are to be found. Yes, battle scenes are brief but well done. I didn't know about that Scottish expedition. The duel itself is very well done - I had no idea...
