Tried to get a room at the Delta Marriott yesterday at WC show rates and was told that they had sold out. A quick email to Matt resulted in his arranging for more rooms . . . thank you Matt! So there are now some additional rooms at the show price . . . at a savings of about $50/night! So go...
Thanks to everyone for sending me a list of your favorite WW2 movies. I sent it off to my grandkids yesterday and they were pleased to get it.

I bought a similar plane years ago. Cut off everything weird (tail wheel, wires, etc); used a Dremel tool to grind off the rough edges, painted the fabric a linen color with the wood brown, and added roundals. All an all it came out pretty good . . . pretty much in scale, too! Have fun!

My grandkids, 12 and 15, recently watched Saving Private Ryan and Midway. Was wondering what other WW2 movies that you cinema lovers think they'd enjoy? Hopefully not to gory but historically correct.
Thanks . . .

Unfortunately the LA press provides a lot of unmerited accolades to hometown team at all levels, thus causing unrealistic expectations. The only thing worse is the way the press pans the teams after a loss! Glad I don't live in LA!

The set shown with the three figures (woman, sgt maj, pvt) is, in fact, an AQM set, shown in the 2007 catalogue as: TB37 ‘GOODBYE DOLLY GREY’ - Infantry Private, Sgt. Major and Dolly Grey.

Just a guess here, but the Brit infantrymen and the woman waving goodbye reminds me of a set called "Goodbye, Dolly Gray", or something similar. Perhaps this will trigger some memories. Another set I'd like to add to my collection.
I think the screw gun set might be Steadfast . . .

You've taken on quite a project and I wish you luck! Soldering is a skill I've never mastered and, like Obee, rely on superglue as I was tired of ruining figures. Always glad to see someone dong conversions . . . keep it up!

I've read a lot about 3-D printing and am considering giving it a try. Is there a recommended primer describing the process in terms simple enough for a non-techie to understand?

OK . . . I ordered a few figures representing the Kaiser's Parade in 1913 (made in China) with the total being less than $50. Hopefully I can make a positive report in a couple of weeks or so as their prices are really reasonable.

The recent posts re pipes and drums was great . . . had my Scottish genes pumping! But my favorite military music are drum corps. Saw the US Old Guard . . . wow . . . fifty years ago now and a British regiment at Windsor Castle that mesmerized me. A sample of the former can be seen performing...
Gotta admit that after spending big bucks on a Heco I wouldn't dare to do anything that might mess it up. You've done a terrific job . . . looking forward to seeing more.
