'Like Wow - Wipeout' was a late addition to Surf Music by the Hoodoo Gurus, a popular Australian band in the 1980s and still going...apparently.

    Things that annoy me

Yes mate, very different countries in many ways, when I first joined this forum in the early 2000's I was amazed at the different climates, house building techniques etc, etc. At least we both have Christmas around the same time. The 25th December is well into Summer in Australia and...

A new band to me Kev, apparently popular (especially in Japan) for their surf music back in the 60's, their song 'Walk Don't Run' being their biggest hit, but perhaps not as well known as 'Hawaii Five-0', the TV show being aired in Australia, maybe also in the UK.

Kev, yeah Status Quo did milk those chords, and why not if that's what the public like. I'm not familiar with the BBC music intelligensia, but suspect similar agendas to our ABC, now worse than ever. Ozzie was certainly a survivor, he kept adapting to changes in the industry and pursued other...

Thanks for the Status Quo memories Kev, head banging times indeed. I know Status Quo were huge in the UK, they did well in Australia but don't think they were well known in the USA, a hard country to break into music. I had one of their albums (12 Gold Bars), one of my cousins was a BIG fan of...

Been Cool here in Australia last few weeks with Storms most days, if I had a dog it would have been krapping itself with all the thunder, Fist size hail in some areas, but no Tornadoes...so far. It's Spring here now, Summer starts 1st December ends 28th February, none of that solstice season BS...

    Things that I really like

Really enjoyed watching a Boxing match between George Kambosos Jr Vs Teofimo Lopez on Youtube tonight. Not being a fan I thought it was a recent fight and I didn't even know who was who, I picked the guy in White trunks to win as he was a better boxer. Which was lucky as he was the Aussie and...

The most annoying aspect of the forced alterations is that 'butt' looks worse than 'a$$' at the begining of words, at least to me.

Keith Urban was technically born in New Zealand but grew up in Australia, recently separated from Nicole Kidman who was born in Hawaii, but also raised in Australia, now both American as well I guess. Not sure if Keith Urban is related to Karl Urban (Lord of the Rings etc) who was also born in...
