I have tried spraying a couple of pieces of kitchen roll with Fabreeze, making sure its not to damp and then sealing them in a plastic zip-lock bag with the empty soldier box. This helped remove the smell quite well.
I washed the foam inserts in a washing machine in a sock bag.
Hope this helps.
Thanks everyone who responded. I have tried the soapy water and I think it has removed the surface dirt. May have to pluck up some courage to use WD40. I will experiment on a haversack and see how it come up.
Hi Everyone,
I wonder if there is someone who has experience with removing the stain of cigarette smoke (horrible browning on white) from metal toy soldiers. The figures are nicely painted but clearly have nicotine stains on them.
I have washed them with washing up liquid which helped a little...
I am looking for this item preferably in the UK, but as I have a son living in New Jersey it could also come from America.
The description is “A mounted trooper of the 17th Lancers is almost upon a fleeing Russian Gunner, whilst another Russian tries to unsaddle him with his ramrod”
I’m not...
Tom,
thank you. That makes sense. They really are well made. I expect that was around the year 2000 to 2002 then.
This forum is just great for fact finding on at TS subjects. The members are so knowledgable.

Hi gloss fans,
I purchased a number of these delightful Coronation flag poles recently. They come individually in the red box shown. Does anyone know who the manufacturer is please?

Hi All,

Hi All,
I have come in late on this one (travelling abroad for 1st time in two years. I have been collecting Trophy for about 10-12 years and really boosted my collection when W Britain’s suffered their major hiatus. Now 56 and agree with the last comments, regarding the baby boomer generation...
Gentlemen,
Many thanks for the advice. I think I am going to give the mineral oil a try and see how they come out. I may try the krylon on some old Matt figures to see how they come out.
thanks for your responses.

Hi Everyone,
I have some Trophy figures that are no longer glossy although the original paint is in good condition. Is it possible to get them to shine again as they would have done some years ago? I wonder if anyone has a tried and tested method. I have searched on YouTube and nobody seems to...
I think it’s time for a new Chard and Bromhead. The new paint style is so good these figures are looking dated in comparison.
we have had 3 Bournes and 2 Daltons the two lieutenants in new posses would be great.
also be good to have a Dunne figure for variety of uniforms.
anyone have any...
Hi All,
I have just received a batch of French Old Guard from W Britain. They are superb figures and the quality and detail has surpassed themselves. I rejoined the club in anticipation of these and I am delighted I did.
Hopefully, the distribution hiatus is well behind them and I for one...
I'd like to thank Marshal Ney for going definitive on this.
Does anybody know which font Trophy used for their labels? is it New Times Roman?
Kindest regards,
Smendy
Dear Scott,
I am indebted to you for these lovely figures. I had forgotten about the other set and decided to find them. Here they are and thanks for confirming there number WA91. These sets were produced in the year 2000. You can see how Trophy figures matured compared with the 1990's figures...
Gentleman,
I really appreciate all your comments. They are definitely Trophy figures and made in the 90’s as attested to on the base. I now know they are set WA90 Coldstream Guards.
Thank you for solving this.
Regards (re-guards) to all.
