    Default Re: True Detective

For me, this show was less about the crime and more about memory and passage of time as you grow older. And how the truth gets distorted in that context. I recently revisited my old college for the first time in over twenty years (and it was another decade before that that I attended). I was amazed at how much had changed, how little I could remember from those days, how much that I thought I remembered that was inaccurate, and how some minor, random things that I did recall were still accurate. Aging is a strange and unsettling prospect for memory. The kids attending college there now were not even born when I graduated. Some of their parents might not have even been born. It was surreal. The ghost of the place that I had attended was still there but you had to look mighty hard to still see it.
