Is there anyone besides me and Chris that collect this line?
For $5 a pop you can buy a figure, painted, with several different weapons, then pose it any way you like.
The possibilities are endless.
There must be something to this as several companies are producing product.
No mail order necessary as Toys r Us, Wal Mart & Target carry the various lines.
Vehicles and planes are also available in the $25 to $50 range.

Gary, I have been eyeballing them now for a month or so. I have a couple of the 21st GI's. They do pose up real good, you might see bombed out houses made by me in the future. Do they make jeeps and halftracks?:)

Slightly guilty. I have a few of the 21C GIs - a small display of a halftrack and infantry meeting up with some airborne troops with a recon Jeep. I kind of wish I had picked up a 3/4 ton WC51 when they were at WalMart. I like the idea of the M45 quad-fifty on the 4-wheel trailer (M51 Mount) but I want to see one in person before buying. I took a 21C M4 and rebuilt it from a "toy" to a "model". I think it would be fun to do that with the M4A3 105 howitzer from BBI, also. So I'm just a "dabbler" in 1:18.

Oh yeah- and I would LOVE to see some 1:18th scale buildings. I have one of the 21st Century farmhouses- I wish those were still available.

I know you can get the Dodge trucks and willys in 1:18th scale. The German Hanomag and Pak 40 can be found too. Some variants on the Hannie can be found as well.

I will admit that the detail isn't as extensive as metal figures- the aircraft are more detailed than the vehicles but at 1:18th, it is easier to modify them than at 1:32nd- plus, if you blow it, you can always buy another and go at it.
You guys will love this, I took an M80 firecracker and stuck it along side a Sherman tank back in 2000 or 2001 and set it off. I was trying to make a realistic looking Sherman wrecked vehicle. Needless to say, when that M80 went off, plastic went sailing everywhere and I had to hit the deck!!! :D:D The tank was obliterated!!! Some of the tread and the hull was left but it looked like it got hit by a Cruise missle, not an 88 shell!!!

I think one of the biggest drawbacks to this line is the size. If you are limited for space, this line is a tough one to get into. Of course, the money you save with collecting in this line, you could probably buy a decent man-shed to display it all. I fully intend to do the Pacific war in this range. I currently have all of the first wave 21st stuff for WW2 ETO, Some of the Viet Nam figures- to include the Huey, and a lot of Modern war stuff- Abrams, LAV, Hummer, Motorbike and 2 Blackhawks.

I posted this figure last year. Picked it up in Wal-Mart for $5.00 and was impressed with the accuracy of the uniform and equipment. It is the only one I own. I bought it since I collect DAK (but mostly at 1/30th scale). With Photoshop I was able to remove some of the joint marks on the figure for my photo-diorama.
