Hi Guys,

Here’s a preview of our next Imperial Japanese NavyZero”... The first 3 x ‘Navy Zeroes’ are all sold out and we still have collectors asking for them... So, here is one more...

This particular A6M2 flew off the IJN Carrier “Zuikaku” and was part of the Combat Air Patrol protecting the Japanese Carrier Fleet while most of its aircraft were off attacking Pearl Harbor.

Flown by Petty Officer 1st Class Tetsuzo Iwamoto, who already had 14 ”Kills” in China. By the end of the war Iwamoto was credited with 80 victories in the air.

Best wishes,
Andy

P.S. Please note the bombs under the Zero's Wings will be removed as this aircraft is on combat air patrol.

Great Andy, another one to add to the deck, looking dramatic now. Robin.

Pretty cool, Andy. I particularly like the models in a group. Hopefully, one day we'll see a few pieces of "scenery" to accompany the plane and crew sets.

Great looking additions Andy and will have to add one of these to the "green" version already in my display. Now, about that USN carrier deck section. :wink2: Chris

OH MY .... OH MY .... my pulse is racing and I feel a bit faint. It is still early in the AM here in Maine and I HOPE {sm2} I am not dreaming.

Only one question, Andy .... WHEN????????

Can't beat a grey Zero and the choice of Iwamoto's aircraft is a great one. Depending on what sources are believed, Iwamoto was the IJNAF top ace, although Hiroyoshi Nishizawa has claim to the same title. Japanese victory claims are open to interprutation and are often disputed. Iwamoto's own diary claimed 202 aircraft downed. Glad to see KC decided to do this very important pilot's aircraft. Anyway, you can never have enough of the beautiful Zero in it's grey livery. -- Al

Totally agree, Moe,
Last year at Chicago I bent Andy's ear for a bit, describing how wonderful a complement of carrier deck equipment would play out on a diorama.
So .... :rolleyes2: maybe they might be in the not-to-distant future.

Must have been a frightening experience seeing a formation of those nasty's heading towards you back in the day!!

One 'Zero' looks good...Two 'Zeroes' look better...A trio of 'Zeroes' looks great...And a whole flock of 'Zeroes' looks....Well... pretty impressive!

Of course I'm more than a wee bit biased I will admit...But there is just something about that Imperial Japanese Navy 'grey and black' paint scheme that I really like ...especially when you see groups of 'Zeroes' together. A few other aircraft have that same 'multiple' appeal for me.

In my own collection I have 3x different B25's...1x 'Metal Shed' beauty, 2x Philippine-made, wood models. All 1:30 scale.
3x De Havilland Mosquitoes...1x 'Corgi', 2x Philippine ones...All same scale.
Finally, my 6x 'Battle of Britain' Spitfires... 2x Corgi and 3x K&C plus 1x Revell...

I wish I could have more but space out here in HK is at a premium so I am lucky indeed to have what I've got already!!!

Best wishes guys and enjoy your weekend! Andy.

Many thanks guys for your kind comments...Hi Robin, don't worry about your Carrier flight deck being caught with a full load of Zeroes and the 'Val'...Remember this new Zero is on 'Combat Air Patrol' up above!!!

Best wishes to all, Andy.

Ah well Andy that's ok than, feel quite safe now having protection overhead. Perhaps a couple more pilots and deck crew to match the growing air power would be appreciated. I think the pilot you are showing with his back to the photo is an existing figure, so a least a new pilot is required to fly this fighter Zero being at least a look alike Iwamoto.^&grin, Robin.
Ps how about a small flak gun and crew^&cool.

Thanks for the rapid response Robin!
Now, here's the old, old problem...Too many great ideas...Not enough hours in the day!!!
But wait...Who needs sleep..? What a waste of time! It's back to the workshop for me...
Thanks again Robin, I always appreciate your support and enthusiasm. All the best, Andy.

P.S. Wanna buy some second-hand pyjamas (very clean, just been washed and ironed) as I don't need them in the workshop!

Sorry Andy, but you know you have the best job in the world, so I do not feel guilty asking you to stay at the tiller.^&grin, Robin.

Earlier this week we had a visit to HK Head Office from one of our UK collectors passing through Hong Kong on his way back from a vacation in Bali....He echoed your words saying,"Andy, you've got the best job in the world!"...Believe me, I know and appreciate it and thank the good Lord in gratefulness every single day.

I also thank him for great friends and fellow collectors such as Robin here and many, many others on this forum and all over the world. Have a great weekend guys, Andy.

The TS world would be a far poorer place without the likes of you, Gordon and the rest of the K&C team!!^&grin

It's easy to forget sometimes that without you and a small cluster of other dedicated TS manufacturers and enthusiasts the hobby just wouldn't exist in it's present format.:salute::

It's a huge Rugby weekend here with the AB's playing the Lions for the third test. With loads of UK and Irish Rugby fans enjoying the city right now.
