Rob, you got my attention on this. Wonderful show of a few of the K&C JN series Japanese. {sm3}
This is (maybe) the first of November, a few weeks before the invasion of Tarawa.

I believe that the Japanese command said that, "Tarawa can not be taken by 1 Million men in a hundred years"

The USMC did it in three days.
