Britains new "clam shell" packaging (1 Viewer)

I just received a shipment of some new ACW figures by Britains in the new "clam shell" packs. I'm very happy with the new format. The figure is very well protected, are easily removed without destroying the packaging and easily replaced in the pack for those who alternate their displays. The most favourable aspect to me is that these storage packs are small and with a little creative packing, you can store quite a few of them in boxes and save a lot of precious storage space. Great move by Britains!

Ah, so they aren't heat sealed like most action figures in the kind of packaging. Are the figures held in place with pieces of wire?

No, the plastic pack is not heat sealed. You can simply pull it apart. The figure is held snuggly, inside it's compartment.

There will come a time when I will buy some singles in clamshell pack and I will see for myself. The thing I'm mostly afraid of with a snuggly fit is that is rubs the matte paint finish shiny/glossy if you know what I mean. The greasy finger effect [shudders] so to speak. A unjust fear?

Hi Joachim:

I think you will like the flexibility, ease of removal and replacement, security and finally price offered by the clamshell packed figures. They come out of the pack easily and can be put back in as well - no heat seals - as folks have already mentioned. As for rubbed off paint - the back part of the clamshell that the figure touches is flocked with a light colored foam material to do away with any wear and the front clam is clear and smooth and only touches raised parts of the figure - again producing no wear - thanks to the material used and the snug fit of the figure. No wires used - hate those darn things and the always rub paint off!
