I believe that of all the fronts of the Second World War this is the most forgotten, but it must be said that in Italy there were 89,000 losses among British soldiers and 90,000 among American ones (plus many other nationalities). If in part many of the American soldiers are very similar to those in the D-Day series or even Battle of the Bulge, the British were very different with a combination that often had long trousers and a shirt. This year marks the 80th anniversary of the Invasion of Sicily and Italy, Operation Husky. I wonder if Andy will have in mind something to celebrate this event?
