Hi Guys,

Over this past week I have been sharing a couple of the major diorama / displays that will be appearing in Chicago.

Today, I would like to show you a much smaller, simpler display featuring our “SIX-DAY WARIsraeli Paratroopers, our fighting vehicles... especially the new “M38 Jeep (being released in October) and a luckless Syrian captive being taken back to the P.O.W. “Cage” just behind the Israeli Lines.

I love this series and look forward to producing more... Enjoy!
Andy

I purchased a very similar plain desert base from you in Chicago about 5 years ago. I use it as a parade ground for my early K&C Glossy Band Collection, but its very versatile, and can be used for any small desert scene.:smile2:

I just purchased the first round of Israeli releases! Can't wait to pick these up.

Thanks Sandor, that M38 Jeep and the new Paras and Prisoner will be released in mid-late October.
However if you come to Chicago next week...you will see it 'in person'.
Best wishes and shalom!
Andy.

Unfortunately I have to work and can't make Chicago. That said, I will be headed to San Antonio for two months of Guard training soon. Let me know if you make it down there!

On a related note, I purchased your Orde Wingate figure as well. I might purchase some stationary and marching British figures and Arab/Jewish civilians to make a diorama of his entry into Jerusalem.

Would you ever consider making a Jaffa gate?

Shalom!
Sandor

Hi Sandor,
Yes I will be in San Antonio...but just the week after Chicago...for just 7 days!

Re the Jaffa Gate...alas the only Jaffa I am familiar with are the 'Jaffa Oranges'!!!
Best wishes and happy collecting, Andy.

I'll miss you by a week.

The Jaffa Gate is one of the main gates to the Old City of Jerusalem. It sits next to David's Citadel at the juncture between the Armenian and Christian "quarters" and at the head of the market. It takes its name from the city of Jaffa, Jerusalem's erstwhile port, which is now basically the "old city" of Tel Aviv. Like the rest of the walls, it was built by Sultan Suleiman as a monument to his greatness. Here is a modern picture:

Note that it seems to drop off on one side. This is not a modern alteration -- a mote used to run there.

The gate has been the site of a number of iconic events and photographs. Here are a few:

General Allenby (not Winagte, my bad) entered it on foot out of respect after the British capture of Jerusalem;

1948 (not the gate, but an area on the wall near it):
