I have now received most of the new Prussian figures. Having handled each one, I have chosen a favorite. I love all of them, but this one just seems to stand out. I am not quite sure why. I would not have thought I would have chosen it, but it has found a special place in my heart. It is the Prussian dead figure, number NAP0161. He looks so peaceful and so natural.

He certainly looks a lot more peaceful that his likely passing. I will finally get to see these in person on Sunday. I am looking forward to that quite a bit.

I bought a few a couple of weeks ago, for me NAP0158 Prussian 11th Line musketeer advancing with forage cap is by far the best figure in the series.

Cheers Mark

I am going to see George at the NE show. It should be quite fun, especially since this is only the second show I have been too.

Sounds like fun, don't forget your wallet . Are you planning on picking up some of the Prussians? George is a cool guy who really loves what he is doing. He is always happy to supply the goods what ever your toy of choice is ;)

As far as a favorite with this series, I would have to go with NAP0162. I think the pose and sculpting of these two figures together is great. Very realistic!

To me, this says a lot about First Legion in that they capture the realistic moments of battle. They don't release just a bunch of marching figures.

Absolutely correct. It was fun and great to see George. I happily added a few rankers to my British and French Guard lines and would have added more but George had already had a good day with them. I nearly added Uxbridge but was saved the extra coin (temporarily) by another chap who also bought Colbert. I can certainly see why. Both of these figures are truly stunning pieces that like most of the line, have to be seen in person to be fully appreciated. They very much look like Russian figures.

I also enjoyed greatly seeing first hand the WWII Germans and Russians. Most impressive lot I must say; I was sorely tempted even though I have no interest in WWII. If you do, they would seem quite the treat.;) FWIW, the proportions on these figures seem just fine.

Then there were those beautiful Prussians. I really need to stay focused on my British / French part of the conflict or I would have bought the lot. In person, I think my favorite was this bloke

He just epitomizes the grit of warfare of the period. NAP0162 was great too. Frankly, there are no bad choices in that range either from what I saw.

The only disappointment I had was missing seeing the Stug. Someone bought it first thing so I will have to wait for another venue and enjoy the pictures posted by Frank and others who have ordered or gotten one.

It is very hard to pick a favorite figure from the First Legion ranges, as they really take care that pretty much all of them look very good.
I do not have any Prussians, but I do collect the "mounted personalities" and am extremely pleased with them.
First Legion is doing Prussians, they are doing Waterloo and they are doing mounted personalities. So my favorite Prussian will be a mounted figure of the Prussian Marshall "Gebhard von Blucher".
I would almost bet that they make him
I sure hope so :)

Don't forget Wellington.;):D

Absolutely, I think that Wellington is a "given".
Was just going for a Prussian in this thread.

Hmm...Blucher....The thought has come to mind, though if we do a Blucher we certainly won't do him alone. ;)

Yes you are right mate. I just got excited thinking about a mounted Wellington. I bet you get a mounted Blucher also.

Don't forget Wellington.;):D

Or Napoleon for that matter. ;)

Wellington, Napoleon, and Blucher are something of checklist items so at some point we'll no doubt add them to our Mounted Personalities range. However, the real focus of the range is to do personalities that are extremely colorful with detailed ornate uniforms. Unfortunately, Wellington, Blucher, and Napoleon really don't fit into this category...

The next figure in this range, due for release around the end of the year, will be the Russian General Orlov-Denisov at Borodino...

You'll all just have to wait and see who is next after him!

Best,

Thanks for the picture, Matt,
I keep looking at the master-sculpt on your "workbench" section of the FL website. Another stunning figure here. Great job!

I would like to put in my preorder now for any Prussian staff set that may come out ...two in fact one for the office and one for home :) This is so exceiting to think that finally Blücher , Gneisenau , Holtzendorf , von Grolman maybe Clausewitz ect.. will get the treatment that they deserve is really almost too much. I cant wait :) as for favorite Prussian fig thats like asking someone to pick his fav child ....well maybe not that extreme  VORWÄRTS MEINE KINDER !

Correct me if I am wrong, but wasn't Wellington mounted for just about the entire duration of the Battle of Waterloo? It would then seem to be a requirement for any figure of him, whether with a staff set or not.

Not only that mate but he was a consummate horseman who not only excelled at the hunt but was known to frequently outdistance his staff and escorts dashing about in many a battle. He also had many excellent horses.;):D
