The last time King & Country released a King Tiger was over 10 years ago.....WS071 Porsche Turret
Not complaining ,just inquiring. Anyone else interested in seeing a new version done with a Henschel Turret ?

The BBG016 King Tiger with Henschel turret was released in 2008. The earlier Porsche turret version was 1/30 scale. The Henschel Turret version is 1/27-1/28 scale, about the same size as the TSC King Tiger. Hull length 10.5" width 5.5" height 4.25". Both K&C KTs are regularly posted on eBay. I agree a new version of a K&C KT would be very nice; but the possibility of a Figarti KT later this year would probably cause K&C to wait and see how the market responds. The Figarti KT would be 1/30 and compatible with WB and FL figures. A K&C KT would probably be 1/28 and thus compatible with K&C, TCS and TG figures, so two different scales and two different markets could allow for the success of both!

K&C should do a Porsche turret KT with Zimmerit; which they have not yet done. All Porsche turret KTS had Zimmerit except for the one in the Bovington Tank Museum; which was built to order by the Germans for the British after the war.

Yes, I would like a Porshe turret King Tiger, with Zimmerit. Normandy paint scheme ......Heavy Tank unit 503. Pick one with known combat history and photos.

I would like the scae to match the BBG016, so they can sit together. Not that I noticed the difference between BBG016 and the exsisting Porsche KT.

Katana, Yes I completely forgot about BBG016.......Oooops ! I stand corrected !!! That being said it still has been 9 years.
I would hope at this point that the current fully operational Toy Soldier companies do not wait to see what Figarti may or may
not do. We can resume talk post BBG016 KT release. Just a topic for discussion as we all know the output that K&C
currently produces every month. Maybe something down the road to come.

I consider K&C and TCS in a class by themselves given the size of the armor and figures at 1/28 (65mm). I agree Figarti is questionable at this time with regard to future products; although Matt at Hobby Bunker is sure they will come through this time! The Chicago Show will be the proof of their ability to produce something new.

I prefer the larger size figures from K&C, TCS and TG, all are of equal quality to my eye. I also prefer the larger armor scale as more choices are available, only First Legion and JJD are currently producing 1/30 armor. Figarti and TG are in hiatus as regards new armor other than repaints.

As you pointed out its been a long time since K&C produced a King Tiger and the Porsche turret versions were inaccurate as they did not have Zimmerit, time to correct that oversight IMO.

My understanding is that the later KT did not have Zimmerit, as there were worries that it was catching fire.

Reading up, it was stopped in Sept 1944, so BBG016 could get away without zimerit.

I just went through my WWII Tank Encyclopedia with color photos. As you had mentioned the trend to leave off the Zimmerit paste started in the fall of 1944.
Prior to that time, random Tanks were pressed into service without it even when the application of Zimmerit was the norm amongst the various units.

There were several 1:35 KT produced by Dragon that were pretty good but these were die-cast 1:35. Just for reference but it would be nice for a KT update from K&C.

BBG016 is a terrific model, one of my favourites with the WS180 Jagdtiger, a new version would be great for those who do not have the first one
cheers

Actually, I'd like to see another 250 Halftrack (with a turreted 20mm gun) or a Krupp Proetze... My Panzer Abtielung isn't likely to grow any time soon, and actually will probably see the Panthers and Panzer III's muster out.
