Hi Guys,

From time to time collectors have suggested I post some of my rough sketches that I prepare for our K&C sculptors up in China.

Here are just 3 examples of some of our upcoming Israeli Paras... These sketches are just a general guide to show the particular sculptor what I want the figure to be doing and, importantly, what style of uniform and equipment, weapon he is carrying.

In addition we also supply plenty of reference photographs and even occasionally bits of uniform etc.

Hope you like them...

Best wishes and have a great weekend,
Andy

Great drawing Andy. Very interesting to see the first sketches on which the figures will be based.
guy:)

Andy, It is amazing that you sketch each figure "yourself ". That is a lot of sketch time ! wow

Great artist Andy, now i'v some clue about arab opposition..the Syrian figure has many russian items..the colour i presume will be a sand yellow? Certainly will be so for egyptians..:)

Hi Andy,

what terrific sketches! You have lived up to my expectations! In fact, I prefer to focus on what has happened at the end of the battle {sm2} Let me add a little confession:rolleyes: I like to go with the flow, see what happens...{sm3} At first I wasn't sure about this new thing...You know... that's... that new Israeli range grown on me. :rolleyes:I have to say: I've amazed at such an amazing work!!!

Thanks a lot for sharing with us.

Best regards

Enrico :)

They look promising Andy :)

Once again lads, many thanks for your words and support...Once I get some castings of these figures I will post them so you can compare my rough sketch with the finished sculpt.

Hopefully next week sometime...In the meantime , have a great weekend! Andy.

I really like the way the captor in the Prisoner & Escort drawing has a "captured" AK-47 slung over his shoulder. That is a nice touch.

Very interesting to see the conception of new figures.

It would be great if we could share in their future journey as well. See how the sculpts start out and move through to the final version ready for casting and then on through painting and even the process for design of the packaging.

I appreciate that there may be commercial sensitivities involved but it would be fascinating to see, at least some of, the whole journey.

Super sketches btw. 😊

Hi Malcolm,
I will be happy to go through the process of production on these figures...casting...'Master-painting' and so on. Packaging is 'regular' K&C high quality boxes with die cut foam insert so nothing new there.

Thanks also for your appreciative words on my rough sketches.

Best wishes, Andy.

Andy

Thank you that sounds great. I am sure there will be a lot of interest in this.

Very kind of you to consider taking the time to do this.

Kind regards

M

Just to add some "inspiration" but i'm pretty sure Andy already did his homework! :) The fighting scene is by Johnny Shumate and describes a 1967 episode, fighting at Tel Faher against syrian troops.
