I haven't been watching much but caught the Lakers-Celts game last night. What a joke. I can remember the old days where you couldn't get a call in Boston but that was unreal. The FBI should actually investigate that with all the gambling money on the table these days. If the fix wasn't in on that game, it was the worst officiated game in history. With that said, the Lakers are one of the worst defensive teams that I have seen. AD stands there like a tree and guys run past him time and again. He has been injured more during his career than Evel Knievel.

Doug...I watched that game...even the announcers were screaming about that call...still...not much hope for a team that can't even play 500 ball...

As they say, this and a nickel will get you...

"Like everyone else, referees make mistakes," the union wrote in its tweet. "We made one at the end of last night's game and that is gut-wrenching for us. This play will weigh heavily and cause sleepless nights as we strive to be the best referees we can be."

Between that horrible non call and the call on a foul on Brown from 30 feet away, then throw in that travest of an officiated AFCCG yesterday, you can't convince me sports aren't rigged.

Eagles/Chiefs was what the NFL wanted all along and it's what they got.........................

I won't watch .02 seconds of it.

Kyrie Irving to Dallas. The Lakers dodged a major headache with him. That should work well with ego maniac and woke owner Mark Cuban. {eek3}

LeBron should become the NBA's all-time scoring leader this week. I'm not a huge fan of LeBron but that is quite a feat. You have to give him credit. His only advantage was coming directly out of high school whereas Kareem played four years of college ball for UCLA. It is always a shame for the records of the greats like Kareem and Wilt to be broken, though. Hopefully Wilt's record of 100 points scored in a single game is never broken. He did that before the three-point shot and he was a lousy FT shooter. That one should be a keeper. The greatest single performance in NBA history. He averaged over 50 points a game one season. Unreal.

Chamberlain is all but forgotten by the new generations. He was the most prolific of them all. The year he averaged 50 PPG, he also averaged almost 26 rebounds per game. His career average of rebounds per game for 15 seasons was 23, a record unlikely to ever be approached. Glad I got to see the GOAT play. -- Al

Al:

This is one of the greatest all-time sports related posts on this forum.

I recently watched some Super Bowl highlights of Johnny Unitas. He was pummeled, play after play, some of the hits boarded on assault. He was often slow to get up, almost punch drunk. Brady, Montana etc. would have never survived.

The same can be said of Wilt. Watch his highlights, he was taking blows that a heavyweight fighter takes in a tile match as he went to the hoop and still scored Kareem took his fair share of tough fouls but nothing like Wilt. LeBron? Forget it.

The “greatest ever” debate across sports is meaningless when one honestly considers how much the games have changed.

LeBron breaks the record. Great that Kareem was there. He has had a lot of health issues. Of course, they still lost and AD is mopping around like he has already booked his "1,2,3 Cancun" vacation.

A true "I could give two shits" sporting moment.

When you play a sport for 97 years, odds are you're going to break a record or two.

Strange, you'd think there be much more hype over this record being broke but not really, the National News brushed over it, Twitter wasn't that excited about it...give James his due but you're no M.J.

Wake me up when he has more championships than Steph, all with the same team.

Oh wait, he can’t.

Wake me up when he breaks Bill Russel’s record for championships all with the same team.

Oh wait, he never will.

LeBron is not the most charismatic guy and he burnt a lot of bridges when he left places. He has also said a lot of stupid political things which were amplified over the incredibly stupid things other NBA folks like Steve Kerr and Gregg Popovich have said because no cares what they think. Love him or hate him, you have to give him credit for this. Scoring more points than Jordan, Bird, Malone, Wilt, Kareem, Kobe or anyone. I'm just glad the record stays with the Lakers. The greatest NBA franchise of all time.

The Lakers made a ton of trades and somehow unloaded Westbrook. I don't recognize half the players they obtained but it seems like an upgrade over the players they traded. Even though they are 13th in the West they are only about five games behind the teams up to number to the top four. A big run could rocket them up the standings.

Listening to recent Bay Area sports talk radio is an absolute lesson in hypocrisy.

So many Warrior “fans” complaining about Durant joining a Suns team that is already loaded with talent.

Wait, it was ok when he joined Golden State and it’s established superstars but now it isn’t?

The new Lakers looked pretty good last night even without LeBron. There were times that I didn't recognize a single player on the court, though. They don't have much chance to win it all but they could make the playoffs if AD and LeBron get healthy. The Western Conference is jammed from 13th to 5th in the standings. Only a few games separate all those teams.

The Clippers scored 175 points in a game last night and still lost.

It was 153-153 at the end of regulation. That’s a lot of points.

Based on how the Kings are doing this year compared to the Warriors, it’s obvious that the Warriors are missing Mike Brown.

So glad the Lakers didn't sign Kyrie after watching the game today. The Lakers have brought in the right mix of guys. They didn't need his baggage. Mark Cuban had that uh-oh expression on his face.

Yeah, they sure did, what great trades they made at the deadline, wow incredible addition by subtraction trades made by the Lakers.

All they need to do now is;

1.) Get to .500
2.) Actually have a winning record
3.) Pass three other teams in the standings to get to that phony baloney "play in game or two"
4.) Win two play in games
5.) Win Three 7 game series with no home court advantage
6.) Get to the finals and win another series with no home court advantage

With LeBron preening around *****ing and complaining about every ticky tack BS non call against him while he sticks the ball under his arm and bulldozes to the basket, bowling over 5 players and "He draws the foul!!! AMAZING!! What a talent!!", then bubble wrap Davis so that made of glass lummox doesn't get hurt.

Bing bang boom, BANNER 18 BABY!!
