Hi Imperial Productions lovers!
David Cowe and co at our fav soldier crafter has announced the discovery of some unpainted castings from some rare and out of print sets of figures from a short-lived arrangement between Imperial Productions and the US Naval Museum in Hampton Roads, Va. to make sets that paid tribute to various US Navy-specific eras within the purview of the museum. The deal came a cropper due to various miscommunications and a bit of an over-reach by a long since departed member of IP's staff.
NOW... IP is going to be finishing these figures using the original paint schemes and boxes (the latter while supplies last) and offering these sets for those collectors and US Navy enthusiasts who have always longed to have these rarest and hardest to find sets from this already limited series.
One of the sets, X2 - USMC Color Guard (no extra "u" for you, I'm an American! lol) has never before been released for sale to the public! Talk about rare and limited! This is a gorgeous set and will be available, like the other sets in this series, with the original late 80's packaging until IP runs out of the paper necessary to make those boxes. Thereafter, the remaining sets will be sold in the current IP packaging.
All the details are here at this link so I will not belabor the cool opportunity here;
Please check out http://imperialproductions.co.nz/collection/oldstock/ip_series_old.html if you would like to see these and/or place an order.
Don't tarry long tho. These are not going to last too long, I wouldnt imagine.
Cheers and happy collecting to you all! Anyone who orders these, post up some pics so the folks here can see them too.
(That link again in case including it in a sentence scotches the hot link.)
