Someone may have started a thread on this show but I couldn't find it. I remember watching the very first episode and not caring for it, but recently gave it another try and it is fantastic. A dark and gothic take on many of the things that go bump in the night with some interesting twists on familiar stories like Frankenstein. Some great acting and dialogue. I binge watched season one and now onto season two.

Great series :salute::

We have been watching series 3 in the UK. The setting has split between London and Arizona, I won't spoil any story lines by adding that Wes Studi has joined the cast:wink2:

Cheers

Doug...

I tried to push this show on you when it first came out in season 1...

thought it was perfect for your macabre taste in media...^&grin...

still one of my favorite shows...

where else can you get Frankenstein...
Werewolves...
Dorian Gray...
Van Helsing...
Dracula...
Witches and their minions...
and don't forget...
"The Creature"...

great show...

I've enjoyed this show since it first came on. Who doesn't love Eva? Those witches from last season, the mother (who is the aunt in Peaky Blinders) and her daughters were delightfully wicked.

I going to have to give PD a watch. Speaking of Peaky Blinders, I quite enjoyed the new episodes and it has a rather surprising ending leading to next season. -- Al

I'm almost through season two now and still enjoying it. I heard the show has been canceled or ended after season 3. Bummer.

I am about a third of the way through season 3. A bummer it has been cancelled. I thought it was excellent.

It wasn't cancelled (so they say:rolleyes:)The creator said he wanted to tell his story and knew it would be 3 seasons.:rolleyes2:

I made it to the end. I would say that season one was the best, season two good, and then things went a bit downhill in the last season. Too many characters and storylines. I didn't care for the Dracula or Dr. Jekyll actors. The latter of which was almost pointless to the story. The aside trip to AZ was silly. Many of the storylines were left unresolved and seemed pointless when all was said and done. None more than Dorian Grey and Lily. Maybe they anticipated another season but I think the show was running out of steam. Eva Green was great though. I also liked the fellow who played Frankenstein's creature. All in all a lot of gruesome fun.

yes...lots of unfinished stories...

the ending felt extremely rushed...

I guess knowing it was cancelled...they tried to conclude as many stories as possible...

especially liked the addition of Wes Studi...

In the post-holiday horror lull, I started rewatching this series on HBO. Man, oh man, does Eva Green carry this show. I know others have said it on this thread but she was fantastic. The scene in season one where she gets on the table during a seance and freaks out the dinner guests is straight out horror genius. Then when she is possessed Exorcist-style and beats the daylights out of her caretakers for days on end. Those are the most intense horror scenes in recent years. There was only one other scene from the movie "Pearl" that compares to the intensity. When a friend tells Pearl that she should open up more and express her feelings. Big mistake.

A good show while it lasted.

They did a horrible spin off that I had almost completely forgotten about until I searched for this thread. It was based in California in the pre-WWII days or something along those lines but the clear intent of the show was to highlight racism against Japanese Americans. It lived up to its title "dreadful."

Yes when I heard what it was about I didn't t watch one episode.
