How do most of you collect, do you get a whole set then move on to another, if time & $ permit. Ive already ordered things from 3 sets :) maybe i shouldnt waver & stick to one set first. But how long do items last before being retired? Where can i see what was in a whole set? I will mostly stick to ww2 items i think, for now anyway.

Unless you have the time and money to get "one of EVERYTHING", then buy the stuff you like most. It's your hobby, so have some fun. Get the sets or items that you enjoy seeing on your shelf.

When you say set,do you mean range mate?.Its never easy!.The quality of K&C'S ww2 stuff is such that it makes it real hard to use discipline and stay on track.I'd say go with what you like, don't buy sets just because they make up a range,go with your heart and enjoy every purchase.I collect all the ranges that i have an interest in Bulge,D Day,Arnhem,North Africa etc.I used to use a scattergun approach but i have finally found discipline and focus. Its only taken five -six years;)

In short, buy what takes your eye:)

That depends on a few things. How much they are selling,if Andy wants to make room for more items in that range or if he wants to redo an item, theres not really a set shelf life.Arnhem is starting to see the earlier releases retired after a couple of years,it all depends on the above factors.

Trouble is mate, just when you think you are catching up...Wallop!! Out they go!,all part of the collecting experience. And i find retirements really make me focus on what i have to have. Its all fun!;)

Thats the ticket!.Hopefully we may get some more Paras later in the year.

Editors Note : JUST KIDDING

Joining the forum when you did you probably just missed our friend Ron who managed to convince many on the forum that Arnhem as a range was retiring!.However he was only kidding and although some Paras are indeed retiring,as Celine Dion sang in Titanic 'My Arnhem will go on';)

The wife saw a collector showcase wittmann i got yestarday & said whats next little soldiers? i just griined, as she left & said to my daughter, theres an airdrop of brit paras coming in soon :)

I refuse to answer the question on the grounds that I will have to listen to myself. That said, I am having to consolidate my collection as in moving in with her Nancyship. My space and funds are limited. Funds due to hours and wages cut not Nancy. So what to do. I try to fill in blank spaces with product less than quality items. Fleshing out the ranks, if you will. I am going to focus on the quality items rather than buy everything insight. My problem is I like everything. (I never met a toy soldier I did not like) Good luck with your challege and remember someday you will have to pack this stuff:eek:

I make dioramas, so I stick to buying items for the current dio until it is complete. The only time I have broken away from this is when I bought the Tunisian Tiger because it was a limited run, a very hot seller, and I knew I would regret not having it one day for a future dio.
