Hi Robin,

once again...I have to say: well done!!! :) I'm going to make something like that. I've appreciated both the picture and the map on the wall!!! As we always say... sometimes the little details make a big difference {sm4}

Cheers

Gee Andy ... it appears that there is a handful of us K&C collectors who will be working on a Tarawa diorama.

Really looking forward to seeing these and HOPE to take a lot back from Chicago.

I now once a figure is retired ... IT IS RETIRED ... :redface2:

But, Andy, do you think that a re-sculpt of the Iwo Jima figures may be in the future?
They were wonderfully designed and I would hope on an opportunity to see those redone ... so to speak ... for the latest USMC sets.

I know you say ... NEVER SAY NEVER.

Hi Larry,
If you are referring to these 2 figures, they are available in the TF shop under U.S. Airforce. Robin.

Good Afternoon, Robin,
I am referring to the series that K&C did a good while ago ...."THE SANDS OF IWO JIMA" (IWJ001 - IWJ030)
If you check out ... http://www.toysoldiersusa.com/ ... Sager's webpage you can see the fantastic sets that were produced.

Yes, there are some on eBay and a few vendors have them in the IWJ line. That series is one of my ---- "Gee I wish I got in on that." OH well ...:(

BUT now that the new USMC series is up and running and the JN series (Navy and Army) is in full swing I can finally fulfill my needs.

I do have the two that you showed and will be getting a second set by Chicago ... hopefully to go along with the new USMC guys.

Looking forward to seeing more of your inspirational creativity ....{sm4}

Hi guys,
I was already working on a small Tarawa diorama. but now Andy comes with these amazing US Marines! I make the diorama bigger. so I started making more palm trees and order more trees.
Can not wait to see the new KC: LVT-1 Alligator! Hope to see some beautiful pictures of the KC Tarawa Diorama, from the Chicago show.

Here are some pictures of my diorama so far.

Thanks Mate!

I still have a lot to do. Make a bunker of palm tree trunks for the Japanese Woodpecker. The wooden sea wall and a water line.

With your enthusiasm, a bit of sand, a few bits and bobs and the great figures it'll be brilliant !

Steve

Hi Harrie,
I will really be looking forward to this diorama, knowing how well many of your other efforts have turned out.
Already, I am impressed with the older Figures, Landing Craft and developmental layout you have started.
I don't recognize some of the figures .... are they a mix of K&C and others?

Are those Palm Trees .. KITS? If so can you share where you found them?
They look really great.

This is looking to be a great series, THANK YOU ANDY and K&C!
AND ... just in time to start making out the Christmas list and "strategically leaving hints" around the house for the MRS.! ^&grin

Hi Larry
Thanks Mate

The palm tree comes from eBay you can buy them at the Prassiri store from Bangkok.
I have bought from him several times and always went top 👍👍 He has a lot of 1/35 jungle, desert trees and plants, great store 👍!

The yellow palm trees I made myself of Milliput two part Epoxy Putty

The figures are a mix of The kc IWJ series and FIGARTI BloodyTarawa series.
Also the LVT-1 Alligator is FIGARTI the set comes with 3 figures.
If the KC LVT-1 Alligator is nice, I'll buy him too. I'm happy with the KC USMC for Tarawa! A big wish becomes real.

Harrie
