A kriegsmarine observation bunker in the atlantic wall. Spring 1944, Rommel has improved the coastal defences in Normandy.In Longues-sur-mer a fire control station (type Regelbau M262A) located 300 meters in front of the casemates, on the edge of the coastal cliff, commanded their fires. It was equipped with the most modern shooting control system amongst the batteries of the Normandy coast. Electrically, it automatically provided the firing coordinates to the guns behind.

Made of polystyrene, stucco, painting, some wood, flour. one Kind and Country,2 del prado( one repainted), one citroen car made in Italy.

This is excellent, Poppo. Well done - you've got a lot of talent for building these customs.

I like looking at your inspiration shots as well - thanks for sharing.

Thank you very much! I like using wasted materials. It is supposed to be in Longues-sur-mer, Normandy, where there are some kriegsmarine bunkers.Here more inspiration photos:

Hi Guy, I was in Ostend once in 2002, but just in the center and on the sea front of the town...And I ate in a pub a fantastic chicken with bread! Funny, they had no other sides{sm4}.

Hey, as they are the same scale, we can put our displays together and make a LONG entrenched line! {sm3}{sm4}

No chips with your chicken ??? you're sure you were in Ostend/Belgium ???? But for the next time, remember: only restaurants have the right to serve chips, pubs and snack bars have to serve their snacks with bread !!!
I am now finishing a BoB diorama and once finished I will start working on the Atlantic wall . looking forwards seeing your bit of the fortified coast

Aaaa, that is why!Very interesting. It was a pub.Thank you for the explanation:salute:: Great landscape for your Ardennes new dio, thanks for sharing{bravo}} .
I will not make the landscape because I put this bunker on the top of a cabinet, too high to see the land.And I am happy I could find this place up for a such a big bunker. I will eventually add some more figures that I will eventually find in the flea market taking place once a month down town{sm4}

Thank you all and each of you for the likes....:salute::

Hi Guy,

Thanks for the tips on the Wetern Wall and where to go to get my chips with the food! Been to Belguim once but at that time was too much focused on Tintin stuff and not that much into WW2! Need to go back and this time head for the fortifications. If I am not mistaken they were preserved by Royal Order, along with some WW1 foftifications were they not? Or was that in Denmark....
These seem fatastcially preserved and a great open air museum to visit.
Cheers
Luiz

These are indeed fascinating WW2 ruins in Ostend. I'll make sure to stop next time I'm driving in the region.

I can indeed vouch for the delicious Belgian cuisine! I have spent many a happy hour indulging in the superb chicken, chips and beer served in the 'Cambrinus' bar in Bruges..

Superb food and it's got to be the world's finest beer....
