It's nearly 50 years from one of the main event of that fateful war: The Tet offensive. I think it's time for Andy to reissue some Vietnam figures! :) I think 2018 it's a year we must celebrate...

I wouldn't use the word celebrate in reference to a war or battle. Maybe commemorate or honour would be a better choice. But I agree Vietnam would be a welcome edition. Reading a book right now, Hue 68, it's about the Tet offensive.

I want to see some ANZAC too...Andy it's time to re issue some figures (maybe at the cost of the beautiful IDF figures!)...

I could be wrong but I think Andy said Vietnam wasn't something he planned to make in the immediate future.

I would love to see Vietnam redone by K&C with today's level of quality, especially the APC, Duster and Huey.^&cool^&cool

I remember it too...but time changes minds..:) who expected Andy making "Six Days War"? ...and it's a big seller...

I agree but I think he only recently said that. In addition, I don't think Vietnam has been a huge seller for First Legion and they are very good figures; I have about 15 of them, as well as one of the Pattons.

In correspondence with FL a while ago they seemed to indicate some new releases next year.....perhaps a helicopter and M113 APC.

Well they are wonderful figures indeed and they are cheap now compared to other FL releases...but i'd like to see them made by K&C and with the same formula of the IDF figures..30/40 $ range , olive drab with some special figures at a higher price maybe.

Hi Guys,
Among the many, many things I have learnt in this hobby and business over the years is...

"Never Say Never!"

All the best and happy collecting, Andy.

I'm more for anticipating K&C releasing some figures commemorating the entry of Pershing and the American Expeditionary Force in France (1917-1918)!

Vietnam would be most welcome.
Either The US theatre or the previous incarnation of the conflict involving French paratroops at Dien Bien Phu. A fascinating history.

Re: Vietnam War ??

Never fought in Europe so I too would welcome a tribute to the AEF. First 12 Divisions w/French weapons.
Chauchat gunners,37mm gunners,Hotchkiss MGs,'97 Winchesters(fixed bayonet on some),bolos,trench
knives,mess spoons tucked in puttees,Marines w/2 gas masks-1 being French(maybe rest of 2nd I.D.as well),some with 2
canteens.
Units attached to Brits..Lewis guns,Vickers MGs
Doughboys come lately w/BARs,1917 BrowningMGs

All units with rifle grenadiers
Jarheads w/Springfields Army, those as well but many 1917 Enfields.

Helmet straps on backs of heads
No unit patches/insignia til after war.(Some Marines pounded EGAs on helmet fronts)
Crew served weapon carriers(auto-gunner,37mm,MGs,shotgun,NCO grunts)carry 1911 Colts

French 75s & hvy guns ,mortars to collect (maybe some Kraut pcs to overrun for diorama)

Oh mercy sakes..look at the time....Taps.

Would like to see USMC at Hue

Yes...that's what i meant ..i'm reading "Despatches" by Michael Herr (it's the definitive book on Vietnam..in it you find stories that inspired Apocalypse Now and FMJ) and re-reading "Marines in Hue City: A Portrait of Urban Combat, Tet 1968 " by E. Hammel and give a watch (always welcome) to the beautiful portraying of the offensive by Kubrick in FMJ and i think Hue is the most particular combat of the war. Marines, a city, ARVN troops, NVA regulars and VC...M41, M48, Ontos, Duster, Armored Trucks, M113....all conspire to make a great series. I agree too with who said that a VN series about the French at DBP could be really great...

Thanks for the tip! I will add Michael Herr's book to my Amazon basket.

Dispatches is truly an American classic in literature. I first read it in High School, later read it again while waiting to leave Bagram, Afghanistan in 2002. Its timeless.
