Thought it would be interesting to see what everyone likes as thier favorite First Legion figure. For now, let's keep it to those figures that have been released only.

I would have to say my favorite would be the NAP0119 'Guard Chasseur Officer Holding Dying Chasseur'.

Aside from the usual First Legion paint quality, I really like this one because of how seamlessly the two figures go together. It seems to capture the drama and consequences of being in the firing line. I just got this figure last week in a group of Chasseurs and it quickly went to the top. It ranks above the all the British Guards, even though the Brits were what got me started with First Legion!

What would you guys say is your favorite?

My favourite so far is COLBERT

...very closely beating the guy at the right, holding the machine gun...

Great question but there are too many good answers. For starters I have to break it down between favorite figures I own, favorite figures I hope to get and most impressive figure I don't own or expect to get (at least any time soon).

The favorite figure I own is NAP0081, Guard Grenadier Lunging

Actually I love all the British Guards but this fellow is extremely flexible and can be be used (modified and unmodified) in so many different scenes he has emerged as my favorite. I think I have 5 (3 modified) at this point.

My second favorite owned figure is this Guard Chasseur NCO (NAP107).

He is not a figure you would order much in duplicates but I love the attitude conveyed by this sculpt.

The favorite figure I hope to own is a toss up between Colbert and Uxbridge but I will give it to the Lord (NAP0174) since I probably will order him first.

Finally the favorite figure I may not get is the Prussian Officer NAP0151

I am not that interested in collecting Prussians but I love the pose, sculpting and painting for this lad. Actually I like many of the Prussians and hope we get some Brits like that.;)

Of course I suspect my favorite figures will change as we get some more British figures down the road.:D

The russian pulling the pin on the grenade is the favorite FL figure I own so far.

I suspect the Stug and the tank riders may knock it from the top spot in Chicago.

It is the French Artillery Set, NAP0019 for me, since it was one of the very first releases, which opened a new chapter/perspective in the Toy Soldier and Miniature Collector's World.

This thread is asking the impossible. There are simply too many good figures to pick only one.

Thanks guys, some interesting replies on this. I am suprised to see that the responses are about even between Napoleonic and WW2. It is suprising since First Legion started as a Napoleonic company, but only recently branched into WW2. This says to me that they are making outstanding products for both lines and collectors have obviously noticed.

Whichever line you prefer, you can't go wrong with First Legion's quality!

No doubt about the last part but as to the balance, WWII is at least 3 times more popular than the Napoleonic period so I think we are doing extremely well to hold our own on this one.;):D

Yeah, I hadn't thought about that, WW2 is still king overall. Still, I would think that First Legion Napoleonic sales are a sign we will continue to see this line grow rapidly. Matt seems more committed than ever to be the premier Napoleonic figure maker.

I will have to stick with buying only the great Napoleonic figures for now. If and when First Legion does a WW2 Western Front series, then I am really in trouble!

The Stug and the Tank Riders will make you an instant WWII Eastern Front fan in no time;)

My favorite release so far is the British Artillery set. The sculpting is amazing! The Russian Hussars would be second.

I have exactly 1 figure , oo48 French Line Sapper so I'd have to say he's me favorite.

For me it is the Russian guy holding the grenade.

While I won't go so far as to pick a favorite I will admit there is something special about that Russian figure.

I am sure if you show this fig to someone that is not into toy soldiers, he or she will think that is a real Russian soldier.

Cheers
