Some feel that K&C Sand Pebbles range is not really a new range but an add on to SOHK.So what would you guys (and girls) suggust as an completely new range?Mine would be The Turkish conquest of the Balkans in the 15th cen.You could have Turks,Greeks Serbs Hungarians,Translyvanians Wallachians (with the ever popular Vlad Tepes),Moldvavians,Bulgarians,Janos Hundyai,The fall of Constantople.Could be great if done right.

You want to see a new range? Check out John Jenkins' wonderful Jacobites. If only he had done Prestonpans, where we woke up British General Johnny Cope and drove him into the river in something under 15 minutes, instead of Culloden . . .:D

Louis,
I did not ralize you were that old a Scot:D:D:D

Allright, so one of my great-great-great-great-great-great-great-great-great ancestors sent Johnny Cope for a swim . . .:p:D

What, you don't say "we won" when your side wins the match??:D

The new range by JJ looks to be very nice but not my area of interest.

I guess he didn't perceive Badolato was a Scottish surname - nor did I. I had a buddy in college named Tom Badolato and he was a Jersey Italian to the core. :D

I agree completely in the sentiment this is a fantastic new range. My aching wallet doth protest but it is not to be missed.

One of the main problems is that there are very few periods that are not yet covered, and they are usually quite obscure and their obscurity means that there are few books or references available. This lack of information means there will be very few customers to buy the product and therefore the manufacturer will concentrate on something that he knows will give him a return for his investment. Having said that, however, some periods are somewhat over subscribed. The answer might be to produce another aspect of a familiar subject. For example, the early period of WW2 when there was still horsed cavalry in quantity, the Czechs, the Poles, Belgians and Dutch. Or the early Napoleonic campaigns, Walcharen, Egypt, Denmark. Why not concentrate on one particular unit through the ages? The Mounties, Texas Rangers or Foreign Legion?

I had one Scottish great-grandparent, which means I am 1/8 scottish-american, and a mere 7/8 Italian American - on this forum I tend to talk more about the little Scottish ancestry, as there is little Italian military history worth discussing . . .:p:D

Come now Louis, What of the Roman Empire????? Or even the Holy Roman Empire?????

I was referring to modern military history. And after all of the invasions, conquests and occupations of Italy over the 1600+ years after the fall of Roma, the chances of a modern Italian having more than a drop of ancient Roman blood in his veins are pretty slim.:D;)

Someone once commented that the Holy Roman Empire was neither roman nor an empire and this is essentially true. The parts of the territory encompassed by the HRE were mostly non Italian.

I'm with you, KV. Louis, you've overlooked the Renaissance in Italy. There's plenty of military history there, with the warring among the various principalities and cities.

How about a K&C version of Leonardo's tank?

Salud!

I thought this was thoroughly vetted in the thread anticipating this release?;) If were are starting over, I still vote for the Three Musketeers or the figures from Cornwell's Saxon or Warlord Chronicles. Many great possibilities with both.

after spending almost a month vacationing in Italy this past spring, i learned that most italians from early histoy til today on don't consider any part of the roman republic/empire to be italian. the greatest republic/empire the world has ever seen were and are considered Pagans. go figure.......

I think it's fun and interesting to hear what people would like to see made.

I know it is a non-starter, but I would like to see the Franco-Prussian War. Those magnificent French and Prussian uniforms would be grand. -- lancer

I suggested that to Andy but he told me it was too close to WW I.

That is not much of a reason. The Franco-Prussian War is a lot closer to the ACW and the Crimea than WW1, which is only 21 years from WW2. Heck, Custer and Teddy Roosevelt were closer to WW1 than the 1870 war. -- lancer
