I haven't had a moan for a while so here goes.................Before I do though, I would like to say how much I appreciate the quality of the MG series paras.

Now the moan and you can guess what it is........

Trying to fight 30 Corps up to Arnhem with the same 4 figures of infantry is at best difficult and can get a tad frustrating. Please see Creating the Battle for Arnhem in the diodrama section to notice the slight shortage of 30 Corps relief.

So my question is, why do Commonwealth troops not sell (as if they did, Andy would make them)?

Remember in Normandy 1944 the assault divisions were 3 to 2 British and Canadian and Monty held about 7 Panzer divisions in and around Caen and the eastern sector for most of the campaign, facing the Canadians, Poles and British. The King Tigers and Tigers for example were on the Commonwealth sector............the Canadians and Poles were mainly responsible for closing the northern pincer of the Falaise pocket and the Poles mainly fought off the SS panzer counter attacks to re-open it.;)

Imagine UK Reb trying to fight his superb diodrama on the ACW like this - say Gettysburg with 200 confederate figures against the same 4 union troops:eek:........please forgive my frustration but I hope that you understand my point.

So why don't they sell?

I'm hoping for some XXX Corps as well. I'm still wondering why there has been no Firefly from any of the manufactuers? In an ideal world I would like a Crowmell and a Challenger plus some Irish Guards, but I don't think I'll see them as the Germans and American stuff is what is produced. Unfortunately, economics is decided by demand and I don't think between me, Rob, Wraith, Eazy and Panda1gen (and a few others on and off this forum ) it is financially sound to make Commonwealth models.

:D:D:D You think you got it bad , trying rolling back the whole mighty K&C german army from stalingrad back to berlin with 20 russian troops and 2 vechicles :D:D:D Do find the new Polish troops very appealing...think the cammo uniforms help make the commonwealth troops more 'saleable" ..the brown field uniforms just don't look as sharp to the eye for display purposes as the american and german field unforms..

If Arnhem and FoB sell, I'm sure these would sell. I, too, am frustrated with only having the British D Day releases from two years ago. What do we have to do get these issued. Oh, I get it, let's just call them German or issue them as LAH, that will do. Sad.

Add me to the list for more XXX corps troops and a Firefly.
Surely it can only be a matter of time before somebody makes a Firefly?

Do you remember the Guinness advert from the 1970's anyone?

'You're the 19th bloke I've told today, there's just no demand'

Yes I do, I know what your saying!......If their not made how do you know they won't sell?

The devil has all the best tunes...The commonwealth troops didn't come with Hugo Boss styled uniforms..:D:D:D

Coming from out in iowa, to give an americam perspective on this, i would have to say that two of the best infanty sets that kc has ever done are the tommy patrol and the ea set of austrailians. How about some tommies[ candians too] fighting some young looking waffen ss {12th ss hitler jugend]. Some of the fiercest fighting in normandy happened in the first week west of caen between those two

The same for US Eastern Front collectors (the real thing of WWII) seems to be a not popular series to be produce.

I think that sailors in south China are more interesting to produce.....

Well said! I think we'll see more ETO Commonwealth in the future. Maybe in May or June 09 we will see some released for D-Day or some additional troops
for North Africa...here's hoping:)!

Gideon,

Nice model but not 1:30 and the detail looks a bit dated now.

Rgds

Sorry. little late to the party, but, Commonwealth troops, yes please. Plus armour would be spiffing.

:) YES, I Agree with getting MORE D-Day and N.Africa (Desert Rats), Commonwealth! We can't get enough! Especially the ARMOR! Suggest to Andy, to gives us the 'CROMWELL' Tank, and the 'FIREFLY'!

I know I do alot of lurking and not much posting so I'll my 2 cents to this thread.Since I really only collect allies and not many germans I would like to see many more Canadian/Brit. sets
But
I see that the Staghound will sell for less than list sometimes on the bay.

Having a soft spot for the Free Polish forces, I keep my fingers crossed for a Free Polish Firefly, & a Free Polish JS2; how cool would that be?

I'd love to see any reinforcements for Normandy, Brit and commonwealth troops fighting in the bocage would be cool.I think the previous releases are so good,'Tommy Patrol' is a superb set.A mortar team or a four man set in action would be very welcome.

Rob.

I would definitely be interested in additional Commonweath troops and vehicles. I have the "Tommy Patrol" and it's one of my favorite sets.

Blowtorch, I'm confused, what do you mean by "Free Polish JS2"?
