I started to model some glossy Toy Soldier figures of the Pacific war fought by Chile against Peru and Bolivia fro 1879 to 1883.

It was a long war with many colorful uniforms, most of them resembling some french and the ACW units.

Here is the image of the Bolivian 9th line infantry regiment and a Chilean infantry private for the Lima campaign in 1881

I hope to have more images soon

Very nice figures, look forward to seeing your other figures.

Thank you for your coments.

I have been visiting the Atacama web site, it is very interesting. There are also plenty of pictures.

I am working now on a mounted peruvian solider, but the idea to sculpt a cantinere it's a good one. I am thinking now in sculpting a peruvian "rabona" too.

You can see that I like cantinieres, vivandieres, and "rabonas."

Very nicely done! And it's a subject that probably has not been covered, before now. Can't wait to see the mounted figure!

Prosit!

This is going to be nice!
There seems to be more information on the internet about the Chileans.

Very nice work,
a pleasure to see them and the mounted trooper is going to be great.
You are very talented.

No, no, no,
they do look nice though, but my purchase plans are done for about the rest of the year  :)

Well, finally, after a long pause due to traveling and work, I've done the first set of Bolivian soldiers ready to be painted as the Regimiento Aroma.

The picture shows them coated with matt premier waiting to recive their uniforms.

I would like to show you the sinished set in a 3D anaglyph image.

It does not have the details of a flat picture, colors have also some distortion, but it has the excitement of the 3D.

Could you show us a little of your process, like some in-progress pics? What do you use to sculpt your figures (Sculpey, Miliput, and so forth)? Do you make an armature and apply the material over it, or just use the mass itself?

The finished figures look really good!

Prosit!
Brad

Thanks for your comments!!!

I work everything from scratch using Magic Sculp. I used other epoxy putty before like Milliput.
I do a wire (just using a paper clip) skeletom for legs arms and body to have the right proportions.

This is the original model of the set I showed of the Bolivian Battalion Aroma

This is a work in progress for a mounted peruvian unit. the horse legs, body, neck and head were done with wire first and then molded with putty.
