Thanks for the replies,

I did look at AN002 also in my considerations since they are of similar size and followed each other. I also put into consideration the single para with tommy gun that also sold recently.

Again, thank you for the polite discussion. Glossman you are absolutely right my friend, part of me does hope the set does not sell :) If it does sell I will tell myself, as with all K&C items that are traded and sold...they find good homes.

AN02 is much rarer than AN01 in my opinion!:)

I got my para with tommy gun for $25.00, and then several months later I saw one go on Ebay for $400.00:eek:

But I don't think this was much of a fair price for this fig?

Njja, thanks for the info on the single para with thompson. I was under the impression it was limited to 300 pieces? I have no way of knowing but 65 pieces would certianly make it much rarer.

The one that sold on ebay the gentelmen stated that it was limited to 300 pieces, still a rare piece either way.

/shrugs

When you consider the low production of the AN11 Para and the popularity

of this series I would say its days as a $25-$35 figure are over. No

other Arnhem series figure has such a limited production, and it will continue

to be a difficult figure for a collector to obtain to complete his collection. I

believe it will remain in the $300-$400 range when it is available.

AN02 is another great set I have recorded it at $300 to $511.

I agree with Tom about the Certificate being a big plus with these and the

Vietnam early sets.

As I stated eariler this pricing information is just for fun.....actual values are

determined by the next buyer and seller.:)

Personally I simply use the information as a guide, then factor in the price I

paid for the item, what I want to buy, and future replacement cost if it is

the only one I have.:)

The figure of 300 is incorrect.

According to my certificate from King & Country U.K. it was a strictly limited

edition of only 60 pieces. So I was also wrong stating 65 were produced.

It is a great little figure and I spent quite awhile chasing it as you could

imagine with its limited production......thats the fun of collecting.:)

The auction wound up at $400, which is probably a fair price.

.......................................................

$400 Why thats outrageous! Who on earth would pay that.........oh never

mind it was me.:eek::D

Actually it was a lovely set, well presented, complete with certificate with

the $$$$ going to a lovely new addition to the family!

What could be better?:)

Oh and I don't record my own prices.:D

I'm confused. Is this the rare, $400 single paratrooper with only 60 pieces made, NJJA's talking about. I got this from Michigan Toy Soldier years ago for $22.95. It was my first metal WWII soldier and I bought it because it was all I could afford. I remember not liking it and later got the mg 42 set, which really got me hooked on KC WWII.

Yes that is the fellow! I would say you got a good deal!:) According to my

certificate they were a special production run for K&C UK limited to 60 pcs.

Very strange indeed! Every now and then I have seen it sell for reasonable

prices......but how many of the 60 can possibly be available for sale?

I'm certain that the Arnhem Series is very popular with collectors and it

would seem that 60 could most certainly be accounted for amongst them.:D

I have 2 myself.......leaving just 58 world wide?

I have one!:)

I believe King and Country UK has one!:)

Lets start tryingto find as many of the missing 60 as we can?:D

4/60 accounted for!:)

I believe Brad and Louis may also have one, my friend Scott McCabe has one, infact I think that may have been the one which King and Country UK had!!:)

So for deffoz, 4/60!:D

I have............................................0!

It was always too expensive for me, plus not my favorite AN piece. At this point, aside from the Jeeps (I have the Bren Gun Carrier and the Daimler), which were way too expensive for me, I'm missing AN 005, Captured, and AN 013, The Defenders. The latter is one set I'd like to have so the search continues......

I agree it is a wonderful series! I like the poses of all the figures, and each

one is unique if you look at them carefully. I also like the Vietnam Series for

the same reason.

Since both these series had a small number of sets they are fun to collect

because it is still possible to complete the series.:)

I know where another figure is so our total is now 5!:D

I already have a daimler with 3 figs, and have just recently bought another + Bren Gun Carrier + Lt Brian Horrocks With map + The Defenders + Street Fighters!:D:cool::eek::cool:

This is sort of fun!:D

Surely Andy must have one!

And Louis?:)
And Kevin Elliot?:D

8/60?
And that one on Ebay!:D

Maybe 9 now?:)

Mine!:D
Njja's 2:cool:
The one which Njja knows of!
Scott McCabe's (IONA)
Louis
Kevin Elliot!
One on Ebay!
And Andy's one!:D

9?:D

I would think, but don't know for sure, that Larry Lo and Hans Hedrich would each have one.

It might be a good idea to create a survey where memberss could check off
if they have this figure. I suspect we will never be able to find all of them as
I rarely hear of anyone possessing the low numbered releases.

I always wondered what happens to them? I recall several years ago a big
deal about a #1 limited release item being auctioned off on another forum. Don't recall exactly what happened in that situation.
