After several weeks where my back as been nice and settled, it took a turn for the worse at the weekend and with just four days to go until the London show i am housebound again!.Still it won't stop me,by hook or by crook i'll be there, even if two Paramedics have to wheel me in on a hospital trolley!:)

Rob

Rob, I am sorry to hear of your back troubling you. It is no fun having many a bad day myself. I hope it is temporary. After all the needs of a collector knows no bounds! Good luck and happy hunting in London.

Thank you KV,i appreciate your support and hope you are pain free at the moement. You are quite right my friend, take more than a spinal injury to stop me buying toy soldiers;).

Rob

Relatively pain free at the moment. Thanks. The weight loss thing seems to have helped a great deal. I lost over fifty pounds and ten inche around the waist. Takes a load off the back.

Wow thats fantastic, congratulations. No doubt about it,the less weight we carry the less it hurts.

Rob

Thanks Rob. Do you have a Chiropractor? I was skeptical at first but, they really do help.

I have seen a Chiropractor and she was good indeed. However i am now attending a clinic in London that is a mix of all things,Chiro,Physio, massage etc. They are very good but at £100 a time the bill soon mounts up.Still its worth every penny.Hoping to squeeze in another appointment before Saturday!.(last time i could only spend less than an hour at the show and was gutted).

wheel chair ready, mars bars ready! We will get you round the show mate!

Tony

:D Nice one Tony!.You know me mate, unless they amputate my arms i shall be banging on door at 7am shouting' MY WIFES NOT WITH ME AND I'VE MONEY TO SPEND!!!:D

And you know how the old 1970's advert went don't you;

'A mars a day helps you work rest and spend'

Rob

Oh, I'll bet she was. Now, we understand the problem. :D:rolleyes:

:D:D Brad you have a suspicious mind.It was all very professional. She now visits every wednesday pm dressed as a nurse!

Rob

My General you've got to start behaving yourself around the pretty nurses and over playing with your toy soldiers for at least 10 mintues a day in order to acheive the strenght required to continue on. A pint or two along with a 1/2 Mars bars is also required.......The Lt.

Thank you Joe,thats sound advice.I can see your destined for promotion, its Lieutenants like you that are the backbone of this Treefrog army!:) The nurse is purely for medical reasons. She keeps me supple;)

Cheers Tony,

That'll help with Treefrogger recognition. Rob will be the one in a wheel chair, wafting Mars bars in your direction, being pushed around by a nurse, who'll also be gently massaging his upper back and thus distracting you, and he'll have a bulky coat across his lap with a couple dozen boxed shape articles concealed underneath.

Have you spotted the flaw in your plan? ;)

Rob, I'll see you at the security office and I'll do my best to get you out mate.

Simon

:D:D I see what you mean Simon, with that description i'm unlikely to be allowed in let alone allowed out!!

Rob ,Sorry to hear about your back problems. It really is hard to take.I have chronic neck and back pain from a waterfront injury and it has not left me alone or given me a moments peace for 10 years. Other than the times they dose me up when it goes on very intense for weeks and I cave in and take the doses.
It's semi okay a long as I don't do anything with my left arm, or drive more than a few miles, or really too much of anything. Sucks so I know how you feel.
I have found it's a combined arms type of thing to keep it settled down.Heat {lots of heat} Manual therapy, Chiropractics ect.
I just have to be careful. I get to feeling halfway decent and I try and do too much which leads me back to being miserable. Not too bright I guess, but I like to work.
Best of luck and I hope you do feel better. Remember, it's like gold when the pain goes away!

Hang in there Rob ! The one thing I learned about back injuries (I've herniated L3-L5), there's 'good times' and there's 'bad times' -hopefully yours will go 'good' soon.
And to think I used to label the guys I played sports and worked with with as 'wimps' when they complained about a bad back...no longer.

I had a bad back and surgeries since age 32. I did not get any more surgery but have to put up with pain and soreness when I do stupid stuff. It did cause me to go on disability before retirement.I found out that tender care the lower back will feel better. L-4-5 disc. taken out, just a shell but no rods.(I like to blame it on stupid duckwalking up hills and 400 squat jumps.) I think they abolished this in Marine Corp boot camp now. If not it should be abolished-- too many guys got injured! Also, bouncing on locomotives with no air-cushioned seats led to many types of back injuries. Rob: Hope you feel better by the time of the show.
