Anyone had this problem before, it's on napoleons guide ne002. He's been in a display cabinet will all my other toy soldiers and all the others are fine.

Yes i know this problem too.
On the many, many king and country sets I have. Has it occurred twice and only with the color Red.

Contact your kc Dealer he can help you by reporting this issue at KC Hong Kong. My experience is that Andy's company always fixes that problem.

I have the problem that I bought the WWI flag on eBay. Already used. So I have to paint it myself.

I have TONS of king and country and it's only happening to me on the early life of Jesus figures. I've been toying with having them repainted, but just haven't gotten around to it.

It's usually a primer problem. Based on experience with Figarti products, once you have some peeling it spreads to other parts of the figure. I have a person who can fix that, if anyone is interested.

Out of all the K&C pieces I have my only paint peeling is on a red flag also.

Flynn...

I have tons of K&C figures...

this has happened to me twice...
and I think one of the times was my fault...
no blame to K&C...

like Zach...
it happened on a Life of Jesus figure...
I own dozens of them...
but it only happened on one of them...
an Arab...
the paint just started to flake off...
Andy stood behind it and replaced it...

the other was a mounted Crusader...
MK077...
"The Spoils of War"...
the figure has a bundle of captured Saracen banners balanced over his shoulder...
the banners kept falling off hitting the shelf...
it happened so many times...
it finally began to chip off...
I would like it repainted...
but it's pretty intricate and would probably not be cost effective...

this is MK077...

this picture is off Sager's website...

not my figure...

my banners are much worse...

but you can see he has some chipping on it too...

the banners keep falling off his shoulder causing flaking...

Same problem with the red flag of LAH047 where the paint is coming off. Had to restore it and give it a good coat of matt varnish to prevent futher chipping . This is the only time I had this problem after buying hundreds and hundreds of figures.
guy:)

Shows up on selected figures, as in this pic posted by Rich:

I have the the same problem on the same two figures, though less severe.

The figures are obviously primed, so that's not the cause.

I especially experienced on a batch of 2010 figures. Afrika Korps, some Kriegsmarine, Club Figures (Wingate & Dolittle), french WWI. Never experienced on figures made in other years.

It's only happend on the one figure, I thought could it have been certain primer used as k&c use different factories so maybe a different primer or I may be wrong. Ive heard about storeage with temperature changes can effect toy soldiers but mine have all been in my spare room inside a glass cabinet.

Yes this happened to me with the King and Country AK060 Set From around 2010. The paint was flaking off in different places.

We should not blow this up, boys! Kc makes hundreds of nice sets and 99.9% is going well. As I said, reporting this issue at KC Hong Kong. My experience is that Andy's company always fixes that problem.

Enjoy the hobby

Contamination of the primer and/or paint can cause the problem. Usually it is associated with one bottle in a batch and can be very difficult to identify as it can take years to happen. Temperature cycling can be the problem in some cases. Sunlight or Ultraviolet from Florescent lighting can also be the cause.

I keep an assortment of Tamiya flat Acrylic paint on hand and repaint chips and flakes as needed.

Well, that's why I added my comment, to say that it sounds like a bad batch of paint, which is not something K&C caused. You're right, they will address it, they're stand-up.

We modelers run into this occasionally, too. Not much you can do except replace the paint and fix the piece.

Prost!

Absolutely, Harrie, but it does happen. Rich's and my experience with those exact same AK sets taught me to take the problem seriously. However, having it be so isolated likewise taught me to keep the issue in proper proportion.:)

Harrie...I hope you weren't singling me out...I'm not trying to blow this out of proportion...anyone that knows me...knows that I collect K&C products...and I'm sure Andy is aware that this happens occasionally...it looks perfect when it's proofed...but the flaking process may be delayed...I have bought hundreds and hundreds of K&C's products...before and after my issue...I have had only one issue in all my collecting...I will continue to buy them...I mentioned this to Andy and when I saw him at the San Antonio show...he reached into his pocket and pulled out a ball of tissue with a brand new replacement tucked safely inside of it for me...K&C stands behind their product...

this is why they make that bumper sticker..."poopoo happens"...sometimes it happens...

It's okay Mate๐Ÿ˜ƒ The forum is to share things good or bad. But especially enjoy the hobby with each other. Next week again KC has an Upcoming Releases! I'm already curious what's going to come.
Must I rob a bank? ๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿคฃ๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿคฃ๐Ÿ˜‚ or do I have to put my wife's cookbooks on eBay so I have more space for dioramas! O boy what a hobby๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿ‘

Hi Harrie,

Loved the " rob a bank .... or put my wifeยดs cookbooks on eBay to get more display space" ^&grin^&grin^&grin{sm4}{sm4}.....Great collecting spirit here! But one thing is true with all these goodies coming out every month and the financial leverage you need to have... I guess a mistress would be cheaper .......{sm4}^&grin;)
Cheers
Luiz
