We French have a saying, "la Verite ca Depasse le Fiction". In English "The Truth is Stranger than the Fiction". So has it proved to be in the story, Mystery, and Skull duggerey surrounding the beautiful but deadley to own, controversial , tragic Sid Horton Figurines.
Oh did I mention? ARA Miniatures and Art Girrona also seem to have sold and "made" some of them??? Then there is the strange story of the "Richard Sharpe" Figure, which IS EXACTLY THE SAME as the figure issued in Spain by "ANDREA"!!!!!! Who took it first? Sid? Patrick? Answers on a postcard please if you know
Then to cap it all, TRADITION of London (err sorry Stockholm) were copying LOTS of our figures selling from their web site (we got printed sheets as proof). Then there is the Italian "Family" selling Copies, since BEFORE Patrick "sold" out to us.
Patrick "sold" to us a Business "Free from issues". That quite frankly was never going to be the case. Piracy in New Zealnd Australia? Italy? Sweden? Spain? the Uk? get REAL here !
And then there was another fishy little episode of a story in Scotland with A N OTHER LTD from America "importing" Ducal piracy faked painted sets into Dundee.......
This Industry is full of Sharks.
Running our own family Toy Soldier Business is not about a group of crooked corrupted "Bums" pissing in my Pocket and telling me it is raining. Go Piss your own Money against the wall. We run a BUSINESS not a Registered Charity !!!!!!!! We lost thousands sorry i do not apologize for being pissed right off
Patrick assurred us TRADITION's old London Shop stocks had been removed. In reality the "new Purchaser" from Sweden has been copying making and selling OUR FIGURES for a long time. Both are equally guilty and are both to blame for it. This Industry is ROTTEN to the Core.
The Enjoyment of Collecting, making or painting TOY SOLDIER FIGURES IS ONE THING. The Industry Per See with its colourful characters and dodgy deals is really quite " A N OTHER" matter:
Meanwhile my work making the Display Model for the "Mountford" German WW1 Light wagon continues. Ive assembled all the castings, and have now painted them. The Figures for the German Army crew too. I am making a NEW Hard Plaster base for this Kit item to be displayed and sold with it. There are THREE possible options for this Wagon Kit.
