Thanks for your comment. I purchased this piece painted from Drapeaux de France which is in the Galleries of the Palais Royale in Paris. It was painted by an artist who signed it with a large M and then the date. There were several other pieces painted by the same artist. Last time i was there (2004) M and Bizot seemed to be the best shop painters at Drapeaux. JW
