Paint work begins with an all over coat of black, making sure all the nooks and crannies are covered.
With a couple of figures and a spare pile of loose stones.

Use the rasp to add shape to the wall, the rounded side is useful for this.
Using a bastard file / rasp, roughen up all the edges of the foam.
Some basic shaping to replicate some damage to the wall section, using a knife. Doesn't need to be very precise.
