It is with real sadness that I let the Imperial Productions collecting family know about the passing of Kay Cowe yesterday morning NZ time after a long and brave battle with a debilitating illness. Kay's 54mm toy soldier painting skills are legendary and she and Dave made a formidable...
A special Christmas present for me! Have been looking for this set for sooooo long and finally picked it up. Now my second favourite Imperial ACW set after the pontoon set! Even with the horrible $NZ v $US exchange rate it still seems a bargain.....the flags are just sublime...now all I have...
As Drum says, it's all down to individual painters at the time - I showed Kay one of the figures that I had that had one of those cards with her signature on it but she immediately stated that it certainly wasn't her handiwork due to "overwide"stripes on the tartan....particular or what!

Hiya
Not exactly a trade secret according to David when I spoke to him but would you believe they use standard oil based house paint high gloss enamels, some are mixed specifically for them by their local car repair shop, but standard paints otherwise.... :-)
Please note: this listing below in NO way is meant to imply that Imperial are having cashflow problems as has been suggested to them by recent callers and which caused some upset.....this was simply me selling on their behalf through a different medium other than the shop, no more, no less...

Apologies....the inclusion of the photo for #100 "Saving the Colour" was an "oops" as that set is currently unavailable new....'tis a favourite tho!

Have found an Imperial price list from !st April 1998 with HS1 & HS2 listed at NZD $1,035.00ea which at today's exchange rate = USD $836.28 then another subsequent (undated) price list @ NZD $1,175.00 = USD $950.10 so they haven't exactly held their prices much as I try and convince the wife...
$US500 + for the landing crew set? Unreal....I swapped mine for an ACW pontoon set....maybe I should've kept it! Hmmmmmmmmm
Dave actually dislikes this set immensely - considers them basic and useless without the accoutrements to surround them ie aircraft, machinery etc...
Yet there's an...
