Serious tariff question: will the tariff be imposed on the cost of the imported goods or the resale value. In other words, if the price of a toy soldier is $85 and the cost to manufacture etc. $45 (profit $40) what number will the tariff be calculated on?

Even if manufacturers absorb some of the tariffs, at 104%...toy soldiers made in China will be out of reach :(

Yes but $5.5 if the items costs $10. What about if the items costs $100...$55 is a big increase...$1000....$550 and so on..this is really really bad. I agree that the US has been treated unfairly but....this is a very painful way for the US consumer to get to a resolution.
