Continental Army

My primary reason for joining this site was to look at and enjoy the hobby of toy soldier collecting. I have played with toy soldiers as far back as I can remember. I can still remember the plastic bag of little green army men my dad got me from the five and dime down the corner.

And then one Christmas, at the tender age of six years old, came a metal knight fortress with knights and Vikings. It was total elation and my brother and I occupied the living room floor for hours with endless battles.

There was a brief intermission from the joyful innocence of Toy soldier battles, as school, girls, sports and making money took its place. But I never lost my passion for toy soldiers. Now here I am retired and still admiring the toy soldiers I've collected over the years. Most of the plastic ones are lost now or my brother chewed the heads off. Weird kid I know. I've since graduated from the little green plastic army men and love to collect the painted metal variety. I'm looking forward to admiring the many creative dioramas and artistically created pieces of history.
