    Buick

Excellent post Wayne and succinct accurate analysis from Louis. Buick cranked out 2500 copies of the Hellcat. Once the US ordnance folks could get HVAP ammunition to the teams late 1944 and doctrine refined to quick agile thrusts the Germans were clueless and had their hands full against these...

    My vision of Cowpens

Please do not neglect the important cavalry component of this battle. Ignoring that aspect will diminish the presentation. Just an opinion.

    Great War / Early Stages

The circa 1914 photos really drum up great depictions for early WW1 uniforms, weaponry, tactics, terrain and the lack of mechanization at such an early juncture of the conflict. As the Von Moltke plan execution unfolded and swayed away from the initial Schiefflen plan the depictions seem to be...

New Releases for April 2025 - American Civil War

The figurines are OK. I will say Brandy Station was an incredible cavalry fight and one that swung a good portion of Union momentum into the Gettysburg campaign. As for the next round consider 1864 and the incredible US Grant led Overland Campaign May/June 1864. That era featured titanic fights...

News Update February 5th, 2024 - American Civil War

As Dalton (Patrick Swayze) said in the classic movie "Roadhouse" opinions vary. A real scholar on the topic should contact Bob O'Neil who is an excellent expert on the subject of ACW cavalry. Also one can call Columbus, Ohio based attorney Eric Wittenberg. Both are incredible sources of...

News Update February 5th, 2024 - American Civil War

Wow this is a really cool roll out of perhaps the most well coiffed ACW cavalry unit on either side in late 1863-64.The 3rd New Jersey Cavalry was known as "The Butterflies" because they campaigned in these longer than the contemporary short shell jackets:a uniform coat called a "dolman" which...

    2024 W.Britain's Collectors' Club Figures

Years back as a Collectors Club member I purchased two terrific WB ACW 1st Virginia Cavalry dismounted figures one holding the other firing a carbine. I paired those two with last year's release of the dismounted 1st Virginia trooper holding his mount. To finish that display it would be great to...

Building my Battle of the Bulge

I hope you can focus on the exploits of the US 99th Division. That unit was out numbered 5 to 1 at the Battle of the Bulge and the unit suffered a huge amount of casualties. But they stood up to the German attack and inflicted huge damage on the desperate German forces. All the best on your project.

News Update June 5th, 2023 - The American Civil War

UKReb (Bob) once told me in a private email that this board can be a two edged sword. You can attempt to enlighten but sometimes the thoughts get hijacked, distorted or perhaps misconstrued. I don't think anyone wants to denigrate or derail this roll out of finely crafted toy soldiers.

News Update June 5th, 2023 - The American Civil War

In my sophomore year of college 1979-80 I sent a letter to the curator of the Confederate Museum in Richmond, Virginia. I explained I was researching the subject of Confederate Cavalry and how they looked in the ACW. The man who answered my letter was an expert on the subject: Les Jensen. He is...
