  • Happy to oblige. I have an original British heavy cavalry saber w/scabbard & the one that this company sells looks terrific. Also have an original French line officer's sword. I bought both years ago when prices were less. Couldn't touch them now on my current income. Maybe a fellow Forum member who has dealt with this company could better advise you.
Thanks for the tip. There is some nice stuff on that site! I am thinking about picking up a Bearskin plate from the Imperial Guard Grenadiers, and a cavalry sword. I just do not know which sword yet. Which ones do you have and are you pleased with all?

Happy New Year. Yes, I would like to know where to get quality reproduction edged weapons, let me know. I would love to check it out. Also, where have you gotten your original documents? A document signed by all members of the Great Committee is fantastic.

Most of my documents are from the Revolution. Mostly printed decrees from the National Assembly. The best one is a document signed by all the members of the Committee of Public Safety (the re-constituted one after Thermidor), including Carnot. You would be surprised at the low cost of such items (not much demand in the States). There is a company that sells excellent-looking reproduction edged weapons if you're interested.
That sounds great. I have never got into the document part of it. What kind of documents have you collected? I have so many photographed and photocopied I guess I forgot about the real thing! When using the various archives in Paris, there were many a documents i would have loved to frame! I have yet to pick up a sword from the empire as well, I would really like to I have a few American battle rifles and bayonets.

Thanks for your post. I have a couple of edged weapons from that time period, but the bulk of the collection consists of original documents. A lot of 19th century prints and many 19th & 20th century books as well. Not as many model/toy figures as I have in the FIW part of the collection.
    Hello,
I love your "handle!" I am also a History teacher and enjoy the French Revolution Napoleonic eras. You should create some albums with photos of your stuff. Happy collecting.
