Great War / Early Stages (1 Viewer)

Louis, great! And all these beautifull vehicles - I started late with Toy Soldiers, when I was 40; some fine stuff of that time (2000) and before I didn't knew.
The vehicles depicted are Trophy (the lorries, buses and staff cars not on the square paved area), Heco Tinplate Models (the tanks and armored cars) and CJB Models (the lorries on the square paved area). They are some of my favorite collectibles.

The circa 1914 photos really drum up great depictions for early WW1 uniforms, weaponry, tactics, terrain and the lack of mechanization at such an early juncture of the conflict. As the Von Moltke plan execution unfolded and swayed away from the initial Schiefflen plan the depictions seem to be endless. The British cavalry overwhelming the German field gun crew is thoughtful. During that era with the French resplendent in red trousers and the German cavalry of Uhlans, Dragoons and Hussars is a short lived execution and evolution of 100 year old plus tactics, techniques and haberdashery. The logistical move into the trenches was the only option with such limited mechanized options. Big fan of brave little Belgium deploying their small army accompanied by an under-gunned artillery defense and a few squads of Minerva armored cars. 1914 is really under-served in the toy soldier sphere but worthy of some good content and depictions.

I collect WWI Uniforms and equipment, focusing on 1914 because I love the colorful (but useless) uniforms:

Thank you for sharing Louis. Your collection appears to be incredible and very authentic.

Why did Britains never produced a German Gun + Crew? And also for the British Army such item (early stage of war, "Pickelhauben"time) do not exist as far as I know.
Hi Artilleryman,
Britains did release a German field gun and garrison and even did sometinh others missed, had the garrison wearing the correct Pickelhauben with the ball point not the spike as the infantry used. And to that matter they also released two British sets one with a field gun in two configurations and even a howtizer set.....Look into the next fairs and sales and you will be able to spot them.....Check my picture album here at the forum ( that is if it still exists as the new forum format may have done away with that ) and you will see all four examples I mention here.
Cheers

WW1 Britains were few within the artillery range and therefore are limited in my collection, but those that I liked I did the best I could to add them on.....
