    MLB 2025

When teams make deals like that, it always seems like they're gambling that there's one more good season left in that player, at least. Verlander is 41, so at bottom, it really is a gamble. And on the player's side, he has to ask himself, or believe, "I can play one more, just one more." I'm...

    Things that annoy me

People like Newsom and LA's mayor are immune to the effects of the laws and policies they push on everyone else. If they had to feel the pain their actions inflict, they might change their ways.

    MLB 2025

I think the management thinks they have almost everything they need, just one or two more consistent hitters, another starter, and that elusive regular closer. Consistency seems to be their real weakness. They could probably improve on Turner at shortstop, too. Prost! Brad

Along the Emmitsburg Road, Gettysburg, July 1st, 1863

Very nice diorama, Dragoon! Did you customize the figures yourself or order them? If you did the work yourself, then well done! I like to see more people rework and paint figures themselves. Prost! Brad

    MLB 2025

New year, new thread for baseball! The stove is hot. Apart from getting spammed by MLB and its child pages in Facebook, I haven't paid too much attention. The Phillies haven't made any major moves yet, just signing OF Max Kepler, P Jesus Luzardo (ERA of 5.00 last season), and P Joe Ross from...

    Things that annoy me

I have seen squirrels cannibalize other squirrels. I saw one hit by a car a block from my house. As it lay there in the middle of the road, another one ran out to it, sniffed, then took a bite. I wasn't too surprised, because other rodents will kill and eat others of its kind. Prost! Brad

    Things that annoy me

I've got to bump this item: drivers who park their butts in the passing lane. Drives me absolutely nuts. They don't get the message if you flash your lights. They don't get the message if one, two, three, several cars pass them on the right, whether it's a smooth pass or a quick whip-around...

Introduction – Collector, Author, and Researcher

Nit that interested in the political rammifications of toy soldiers, but it would be interesting to see your collection. You should post some pictures.

The Toy Army Men which Scammed America

His deviated septum drove me nuts. "Eat a Hall's, knucklehead!" It's a little surprising how little he knows about the subject, too. Actually, how little he knows. There was a world before 1978, kid.

And So It Begins . . . Snow!

Flurrying here in PA right now, but it's still too warm for any accumulations. Temperatures are in the low 40s. It'll go back over to rain through the day, and for tomorrow the forecast is clear and around 50. A good fall day for a round of golf. Prost! Brad

How do I update my Album(s) with new photos?

What machine are you using-laptop or desktop, Windows or Mac? Mobile device like an iPhone, or an Android phone, or other machine? Those details could be important to solving the issue.

Would anybody out there be interested in a Course on how to make Clay master Figures?

He's a producer, apparently, who now owns several legacy brands. I remembered his earlier posts from a couple of months ago, which contained thinly veiled accusations of piracy against some other contemporary makers. I think he's gretzing about the costs of production. Prost! Brad

Would anybody out there be interested in a Course on how to make Clay master Figures?

I don't think it's solely the materials that drive the price of a finished figure up. The fact that the market is limited has an impact, and the fact that whether it's a figure made from a sculpted master, a mold made the old-school way, and cast in white metal, requires a specialized set of...

Would anybody out there be interested in a Course on how to make Clay master Figures?

I don't disdain 3D printing, but I don't feel the need to invest in the equipment and materials and learn the processes, at this point in my life. Though I have dabbled a little with Sketchup. But I'm still working with 2-part epoxy putty to learn to sculpt. Prost! Brad

    Vallejo Water bsed Hobby paints.

If you're going to use water-based acrylics, I recommend using a wet palette. If you've never used one, a wet palette consists of a water-tight and hopefully air-tight container, a sponge, and a piece of porous material as the actual palette. There are papers made for this purpose. You wet the...

    Things that annoy me

Larry Elder gave his theory on why it took her so long to speak. First, her people couldn't find a teleprompter, and second, they were all so distraught that they were too drunk to write the speech for her. Prost! Brad

Fall In Wargaming Convention Lancaster PA

Glad to see you got to enjoy yourself, George! I haven't been able to attend the HMGS shows for a couple of years, since they moved briefly from Lancaster, but it was always a fun event, an interesting event. I agree with you about the flea market. When I first visited Historicon, the guys told...
