We were only issued M14 semi-automatic rifles in my U.S. Army unit (320th USASA Bn) in Germany in 1963-64. The full automatic version had a heavier barrel and a bi-pod and was intended as a replacement for the squad BAR. It turned out to be less than satisfactory since it was too light and was...
These are a special order of the 1st R.E.P. 1960 Algerian War French paras in the first stage of painting. It includes one double set with 18 figures and two sets with nine figures each. They are scheduled to shipped from Montevideo, along with the balance of Part 5 of the 2019 order, on...
Thanks Gary. I agree that the shelves are more crowded than I would like in a perfect world, but to display them otherwise would mean that I would have to remove a couple of AFVs per shelf and not display them at all. At two per shelf, it would involve removing 20 AFVs which I have too much...
I now more or less have most of my new K&C acquisitions on display with the exception of 15 sets. The new Pulaski curio and the new bookcase are now out of space for additional sets. I also cleared an additional shelf in my original toy soldier room to display the K&C sets that have extra long...
Yesterday, I received from Treefrog the back ordered JG Miniatures JGTM06 Beach Mat for Landing Craft which I have now incorporated into my King & Country D-Day diorama. It is 30 X 13 inches in size and costs $95. I am also going to have to order the JG Miniatures sand mat so I can fill in the...
With the recently acquired bookcase, I now have an appropriate place to display my Hiriart camel and elephant sets. Prior to this, 12 of the 13 sets displayed were still tied into their boxes. I will have acrylic doors made for all my open bookcase shelves to keep the dust at a minimum and...
It is a neat series, isn't it? I also thought it was odd that there wasn't an officer figure offered for the 60th Royal Americans especially in light of the fact that all the provincial regiments offered a choice of two officers. I would also like to see royal and regimental standards for the...
Thanks Robin, I thought so too. We visited the French fort at Louisburg in Nova Scotia in 1978 and the buildings inside the fort were similar, if I recall correctly. Mike
This is my final John Jenkins Designs French & Indian War display. It has sets from The Raid on Saint Francis and The Battle of the Plains of Abraham in addition to two building backdrops from Hudson & Allen. From left to right, the Pennsylvania Provincial Regiment, the 60th (Royal American)...
I also always look forward to seeing the new sets or even the existing ones when they are in the workshop after being painted, but before they have been tied into their boxes.
For those of you not completely familiar with the K&C AS-42 Sahariana, here is what it looks like next to a K&C Italian M13/40 Tank. It has almost the same footprint as the tank, but, to me, looks incomplete without a crew.
