Too bad (or really good luck?) that JG is not a Figarti fan, imagine every Sherman type and variant, including PTO Shermans with shirtless marines, ever made.:cool:
Better than being called "Rick Wang.":D:D:D While a pitcher gets the win in his stats, the whole team also gets the benefit of the win in the standings. Applying your baseball analogy, it is actually a benefit to our little group of collectors if I get all the "wins" as you get to bask in the...
Cue sinister music ... deep horrible laughter rings throughout the thread ... "Ha ha ha ha ha" ... I arrive 5:06 a.m. on Wednesday morning ... the early bird catches the worm ...
All joking aside, I found it a great pain 10 years ago going back and forth between the Hyatt and the AmeriSuites several times a day with my purchases (this is the time before the convenient K&C cloth bags), so feel free to store your stuff in my room.:)
Tom,
I hope you bring a portable luggage cart to bring your daily purchases back to your room ... the pedestrian light on that 6 lane street separating the Hyatt from the mall is only about 20 seconds ... anything you drop becomes "finders keepers.":D
Of course, feel free to store your...
If you simply get into an All Star, American or regular Chicago taxi in the taxi queue, you will be charged on the regular meter and the cost for a one way trip will be more than $60. The cost of a metered cab trip is easily double the flat rate taxi or limo cost, something I found out the...
Last year was very unusual since the Hyatt was still under renovation during the show. I think sections of the 4th and 5th floors were not finished, forcing dealers who have had the same room for years to move. Some dealers mentioned that their assigned room did not have a toilet ... and who...
Mr. Chauffeur was the limo company listed on the Hyatt transportation link two years ago. Last year (which also coincided with the Hyatt ownership change), the listed limo company was Viatas. I do find it odd that a town car or limo ride is cheaper than a taxi and that is not taking into...
I just called Viatas directly and they say the Hyatt is mistaken and that the Hyatt transportation link should list them. They still have an arrangement and it is a very good deal. $26 plus tip one way between O'Hare and the Hyatt -- I have just reserved a roundtrip to the airport.:cool...
Guys,
There are some changes in the arrangements that the Hyatt has with various transportation companies. This year, only All Star Cab (888-533-4240, $27 flat fee one way) and American Cab (847-253-4411, $31.50 flate fee one way) are listed as choices from O'Hare. There is no need to make an...
As mentioned by Pat on the thread with Chicago Show Advice, there are dealers that only show up at the show, so there are still great discoveries on Sunday. In addition, I have found that no matter how careful I am in checking all the rooms, there is always something that I missed in a...
At the last few meetings, Andy has opened up the floor to questions after a few introductory remarks. If you are not attending the Chicago Show or the K&C Dinner, I invite you to post reasonable, common sense questions that I will either ask or forward to Andy. However, I cannot promise that...
