    Photo Catalog - Imperial Productions

Re: The Imperial Productions Photo Catalog I just started taking some Gordon/Cameron comparison shots last night and will try to get some of those up soon. Per your request, I will start with the Civil War sets next. It's the very least I can do for my "man in NZ". :)

    Photo Catalog - Imperial Productions

A work in progress; But for starters; The Early Years; http://www.treefrogtreasures.com/forum/album.php?albumid=213 and, The Sudan Campaigns 1880-98 http://www.treefrogtreasures.com/forum/album.php?albumid=212 (I know... I forgot to include the Bengals in there. I am thinking that they...

    Show us your Bengals!

A theory that I am working on... Imperial Productions sets #50 and #51 were released in about 1988. Of this I am nearly certain. These had dark blue tunics and light blue turbans with dark blue stripes. At some point thereafter, the creative folks at The Toy Solider Gallery in upstate NY...

    Imperial General Colbert.

I think that might be the photos themselves. The only difference I notice is the color of the coat, which I would explain by flash quality differences between the two cameras. Do you see something else? D

    Show us your Bengals!

Cool photos, Dan and an excellent observation on the officer's turban. I think you have an officer there from one of the special order Bengal sets. The set 51a officer that I have has a turban identical to the troopers. (woops... maybe I shrunk that too much. Can you see it okay?)...

    Gordon Heirloom series

Doh! Mistyped the title of this thread... oh well. Amazingly, here is another one of these sets up for auction. Nothing like a big auction to "educate" the hoarders about the treasures in their midst...

    Show us your Bengals!

Hey all, I think that we have done this before but I thought I would start a new thread for some discussion and research on any variations in Imperial's Bengal horsemen. Below are some pics of one identified variation. Please post your own pics of these sets, especially if you see something...

    Got a bit goofy....

Thanks for posting those, Rob. Examining them again, they are a very subtly different than the tan tunic'd Bengals from sets 50a and 51a. With different footwear (puttees instead of cavalry boots), different colors on the pinion and a completely different pattern of turban. Otherwise, the...

    Got a bit goofy....

I don't recall either, but I think it did not have it's own label. I seem to remember that it was primarily a difference of tunic color. Rob will be along in a while to help us. D

    Got a bit goofy....

Update, they are here and looking spectacular. Aesthetically speaking, I think I like the kilt pattern of the original Cameron set better, but these are very nice. Such a sweet presentation with those New Zealand hardwoods boxes! Anyway, I will post some pics once I set up the photo studio...

    Got a bit goofy....

Darn that Vandilay if he did not remind me of one more set that we lack here in Bethlehem... There is apparently an "official" alternative paint job for one of the Bengal Lancer sets. Rob has posted pics and I noticed the discrepancy. I have since learned that there are apparently...

    Got a bit goofy....

Sorry to be so cryptic. That auction ended because I convinced seller to sell it to me directly. He is bringing them both out to me from Brooklyn today. :)

    No... that was me.

    Got a bit goofy....

Yes, that is the same seller... he has cagily added the information that he picked up from me in his new auction listing. I sure hope he doesn't expect me to run this one up. I have already pretty much decided that I only wanted the HS1 set anyway and I surely will not be committing any...

    Got a bit goofy....

Thanks to Dan and Rob and the others who have offered their help in alleviating my guilt. I have pretty much moved on. It is only money and there is (hopefully) always more of that out there. I am again at peace with myself. ;) My parents got this started back in the mid-eighties and thus...

    Got a bit goofy....

What? No black helicopters? :p Seller is intrigued by our little town of Bethlehem and intends to drive here from Brooklyn for a little sight seeing soon. And thanks for the kudos. D

    Got a bit goofy....

on ebay. A stupid born-again rookie bidding mistake and an all too timely telephone conversation with David Cowe are to blame for my ridiculously high bid (or so I have been telling myself). Still, the hunt for my Imperial Productions version of the "Holy Grail" is complete and I...
