A theory that I am working on... Imperial Productions sets #50 and #51 were released in about 1988. Of this I am nearly certain. These had dark blue tunics and light blue turbans with dark blue stripes. At some point thereafter, the creative folks at The Toy Solider Gallery in upstate NY...

I think that might be the photos themselves. The only difference I notice is the color of the coat, which I would explain by flash quality differences between the two cameras. Do you see something else? D

Cool photos, Dan and an excellent observation on the officer's turban. I think you have an officer there from one of the special order Bengal sets. The set 51a officer that I have has a turban identical to the troopers. (woops... maybe I shrunk that too much. Can you see it okay?)...

Thanks for posting those, Rob. Examining them again, they are a very subtly different than the tan tunic'd Bengals from sets 50a and 51a. With different footwear (puttees instead of cavalry boots), different colors on the pinion and a completely different pattern of turban. Otherwise, the...

I don't recall either, but I think it did not have it's own label. I seem to remember that it was primarily a difference of tunic color. Rob will be along in a while to help us. D

Update, they are here and looking spectacular. Aesthetically speaking, I think I like the kilt pattern of the original Cameron set better, but these are very nice. Such a sweet presentation with those New Zealand hardwoods boxes! Anyway, I will post some pics once I set up the photo studio...
